We ran straight at Gornid. Whatever was going to happen needed to happen quickly. Between the two groups, I hoped the others could hold their ground. I was hoping that for some reason we could get the best of Gornid. It was hard to think that without all eight of our powers, and Gornid's past, we would win this fight, but we had to try. He saw us running at him and he slammed his sword into the ground creating a bubble that surrounded us and him all together so nothing could get in or out.
"Good to see you folks, especially you Fig." He snarled at us.
"This is the last time I'm ever gonna see your ugly grin so I can't say the same." Fig barked back.
"Y'know, you could've joined us like Eli? I wanted it to be you but he insisted it stays just us two in order to beat you folks." Gornid pulled his sword out of the ground.
"That doesn't matter to us. The only thing that matters is keeping each other safe." Poy shouted back readying an arrow aimed at his forehead.
"Let's do it then, let's see what you folks got." He smiled and a blackness surrounded his fists. Whatever that was continued to surround his body. He then began to grow until he was ten feet.
We surrounded him so he was in the middle of us. Poy, Fig, Macie, Ethan, and I looked more worried about each other than we did fighting him. Poy shot an arrow to get us started, here we go. Fig and Ethan ran at him and he easily handled them two. He was countering their every move to perfection. I felt the electricity coursing in my veins. It was my turn to get a go at this ogre.
I charged at him and launched myself into the air above him. He rolled out of the way of where my axe was now slammed into the ground. I looked right at him and I could feel the electricity pulsing from my hands and arms. Ethan threw the shuriken at Gornid to which he grabbed and launched the shuriken away from Ethan, then hit the hilt of his sword against Ethan's chest, knocking the wind out of him. I charged to try and protect Ethan. Slamming my axe against Gornid's sword knocking him back a little. I threw a punch mixed with my powers that unfortunately missed.
He countered by swinging one of his swords at me but I barely dodged. I swung my axe towards his feet. He hopped to dodge it and I threw another punch. this one connecting. I got ready to swing but before I did he held his hand out and it launched me fifteen feet. I got up and pulled my axe out of the ground. Fig and Macie charged, Fig was swinging pretty hard. Macie threw her spear into his leg and it made him groan but he then just kicked her and she rolled back about twenty feet from where she had been.
"Seth. My shuriken! Ethan pointed finally getting his breath back. His shuriken was right under my foot. I looked down to grab it, but when I looked back up I regretted looking down.
"So it begins." Gornid smiled. He was holding a sword around Ethan's neck and he couldn't break free.
"Gornid don't do this," Fig shouted standing up after I'm guessing he got subsided.
"You know you can't stop me from doing this. every part of this was unstoppable. You knew this!" He shouted back.
I didn't know what to do. My best friend was waving at death and I had no idea what to do. I couldn't help him. None of us could. If Ethan got hit, his sword was going to kill him. I was looking for some sort of way to help him. Macie was sneaking vines up from behind him to try and grab his arm but vines were not going to stop him. He felt the vines on his arm he swung the sword to destroy them and Poy launched an arrow into Gornid's arm that was wrapped around Ethan. I charged in trying to save Ethan but as I did Gornids second sword went through Ethan's ribcage.
"NO!" I shouted as I threw my axe that barely missed Gornid.
He yanked his sword out of Ethan and his body just hit the ground. Macie pulled Ethan towards him with vines while Poy, Fig, and I charged. Lightning left my body and grabbed my axe and it came back to my hand. Fig was battling one hand of Gornid with two swords, I was battling his other hand with my axe and Ethan's shuriken. I threw the shuriken that barely missed Gornid, I swung the axe, crouched to grab the shuriken and I felt Poy's arrow barely miss me and hit Gornid in the chest, I swung my axe and it cut Gornid's leg.
