Chapter 11: What goes around comes around...

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! Ready or not here I come!" I heard her chant as I hid behind a bush.

I giggled as I heard her feet stomp around the green grass looking for me.
"I wonder where Nevaha could be?" She yelled out searching at every spot except for the one where I was located.

I held in my laugh as she had an extreme puzzling look on her face. Her eyes wandered around until they landed on the bush where I was. I gasped and hid deeper behind it and heard her stomping grow and grow.

"Maybe she is...No I don't think she's there." She turned the opposite way. "Nevaha where are you!" She yelled.

Finally I laughed loudly, she turned, and located me.

"Found you." She grinned.

"You're so good at this game." She replied by bowing.

"I learn from the best." She replied.

"And who's that." I asked.

"If I told you, then I'd have to kill you."

I giggled until I heard my mother call my name.

"Oh, my mommy is calling me." I frowned. "Maybe you can come inside!" I screeched with hope and excitement.

"I-I can't." She whispered.

I sighed and nodded, she smiled then gave me a hug before running off. I waited until I could no longer see her. I slowly walked back into the house with my mommy standing by the kitchen table awaiting for my return.

"Sandwiches!" I screamed grabbing one and taking a huge bite.

I turned to my right and eyed the glass of milk next to my plate, picking it up, I took a big gulp with some dripping down to my shirt.

"Be careful Nevaha, you're spilling it on your clothes." She laughed while wiping the milk off.

"I made a friend, mommy!" I grinned showing my one missing tooth.

"Is that so? Well what's her name?" She replied.

I stayed silent. I hadn't realized I forgot to ask for her name?

She looked at me confused then spoke.

"Don't tell me you don't know her name. What did I tell you about talking to strangers."

"She's not a stranger she's my friend."  I yelled.

"Nevaha you don't even know the girl!" Mommy then got up to put my plate and cup in the sink and began talking again. "I don't want you to talk to this girl okay. I'm just trying to protect you, sweetie."

"No!" I yelled once again.

She rolled her eyes softly and took a deep sigh.

"Just go to your room and think about this."

I did as I was told and stomped my way up the stairs.

I have a secret.

Promise you won't tell.

The girl I played with is my first and only friend I have. When she came up to me and asked to play I was so happy that I finally got a friend! Everybody makes fun of me at school they say my name is weird and they say that they won't talk to weirdos like me.

But I guess they're right I am a weirdo.

I slowly opened the door and saw something sitting on my bed.
