Burnt Cookies (Loid x Fem reader)

Request: "My boyfriend and I recently tried making cookies... I burnt mine but his were like... PERFECT. Like- Golden ratio perfect... I ended up crying because I felt like such a failure, he told me it's fine and he even ate one of my cookies just to prove his point! Please write a one-shot for Loid? And maybe female reader plz? Thank you!"

One morning, Loid was busy washing some dishes in the kitchen when y/n suddenly rushed into the open room and yelled out:

"Let's do some cooking pracs!"

Y/n beamed in excitement.

Loid had to remind y/n what happened last time... He sighed to himself and shook his head...

"Ah yes... you set the kitchen on fire?"

Y/n crossed her arms and awkwardly looked around the kitchen but Loid...

"That was... not me... and that was a while ago..."

Loid gives y/n a look and smiled gently.

"Technically it was just a few days ago... But I guess it's fine. Let's do some cooking, what are we making? Did you have anything in mind y/n?"

"Cookies!"

"Sounds great. Let us get started then."

Loid walks over to the cupboard to get all the ingredients and also started to preheat the oven. He grabbed a few bowls, spoons and even the baking tray itself. Loid taught y/n how to do a few of the steps before they each did their attempts at creating and baking their cookies.

After the two finished... Loid's cookies were perfectly golden brown... y/n's were... burnt... hard... broken... disfigured and messy...

Loid looked over at y/n's burnt cookies and chuckle softly.

"Well, you tried your best. Maybe you could let me take over."

Y/n pouted and shook her head.

"No! I c-can make b-better cookies!"

"Oh, alright then."

Loid then proceeds to watch as y/n continues to struggle to make the cookies, and with each cookie looking worse than the last. He couldn't help but smile sympathetically at her...

Y/n soon had a tray of multiple burnt and stone-hard cookies... She tried one and spat it out and looked like she might cry... Loid quickly walks over to y/n and tries to comfort her when she tried making the cookies.

"Well, there's no point in crying about it. It was an honest effort and a wonderful try. Would you like for me to have this cookie?"

Loid then takes the one she spat out and took a big bite from it, making sure to keep a straight face while consuming the cookie...

Y/n stared at Loid teary eyed and mumbled:

"You d-don't h-have to e-eat it... It t-taste b-bad..."

"Nonsense, this cookie is delicious."

Loid continues to bite into the cookie and pretends to enjoy it.

"Honestly a perfect 5/5 cookie. I will eat them all. They are wonderful"

Y/n gets super teary and starts to truly cry...

"U-Uweh..."

Loid immediately pulled y/n close and comforted her.

"There. There... Don't cry."

He gently hugs her and planted a kiss on her forehead as he kept comforting her.

"It's alright. We can practice making cookies again"

Y/n frustratingly shook her head while hugging Loid as she mumbled in a cracked voice:

"I don't w-want to t-try again..."

"I know it can be discouraging. But it would be a shame to stop after one try. You will get better. I know you will. Would you like to eat the cookies that I made instead?"

Loid gave a hopeful smile. An attempt to encourage Rei to eat his cookies instead.

Y/n sniffled and shook her head, she buried it into Loid's chest... She felt like she didn't deserve to try or have his perfect cookies compared to her burnt and horrible ones...

Loid can't help but melt into y/n's sweet clinginess, through her hug... He continued to hold her close and slowly rock her from side to side. As he does this he also gently rubbed his hand along her back.

"It's alright."

Loid speaks gently and with a soothing voice that aims to brings y/n great comfort...

After a minute or two, Rei reluctantly grabbed onto one of Loid's perfect cookies and took a bite... Instantly she was in favourful wonderland... It was buttery, smooth, melty and just pure deliciousness...

Rei snapped out from her thoughts when she saw Loid calmly eat all her burnt cookies, she shook her head and tried to stop him, but he just smiled and kindly said:

"Do you know why I keep eating your cookies y/n?"

"N-No... but you probably feel b-bad..."

"Not quite... I actually... feel very happy"

"W-What? W-Why?"

"Because even though all your cookies are burnt and crispy hard like a stone... They have something that my cookies don't have"

"Crumbs?"

"No... It's... love... Made from the one who tried so hard to please me..."

"H-Huh?"

"Thank you... y/n..."

Instantly this comment made y/n confused but also happy at the same time... She hugged Loid tightly before smiling uncontrollably... Completely forgetting about her shame and guilt for making those burnt cookies in the first place...
