totally krossed out was the album of the year, 1992. at first it got no attention, since they were 12-13 no one expected them too be able to rap. it was viewed as kiddy music.
soon adults, kids, all ages started bumping it, even tupac made his own parody of it. they were worldwide, global rap stars. they had their own game, make my video.
too add on, their style of wearing their clothes backwards was crazy! adults thought it was dumb, buts kids and teens walked around with jeans saggin' hat backwards and shirt backwards were common.
they rapped about elements like gang life, drug dealing, and their perspective of growing up in the hood. they weren't average boys, they were lil boys in da hood.
jazz samples, rap samples, every song. jermaine never set them up for failure, as they would continue doing their thing.
singles like 'jump' 'warm it up' 'i missed the bus' and 'it's a shame' are what really made the album pop like they did.
