Aurelia winces as the maid pulled the laces of her corset tighter, her breath catching in her throat. "This corset is suffocating," she mutters, trying to remain composed despite the discomfort. "Then suffer beautifully, darling. It's the price we pay for attention," Charlotte quips, her voice honeyed but sharp, as another maid carefully fastened the intricate clasps of her gown. She glances at Aurelia with a knowing smirk. "Besides, you'll need every eye on you tonight. There's far more than dancing at stake at this ball." Charlotte advises as she rolls her eyes.

Aurelia's fingers tightened around the edge of the vanity as she steadied herself. "And what exactly do you think I'll gain from tonight?" Aurelia questions as charolotte looks at her with a smirk. " A lovely man. Perhaps even a soulmate " charlotte answers making Aurelia roll her eyes.

"As if I need that"

...

The Mikaelsons, led by Lucien, walk into the castle in the clothes of their earlier victims. All of them look nervous as they take in the grand interior of the castle, and Lucien fills them in on the details they need to know to blend in effectively as he gestures toward the Count, who is sitting on his throne at the far side of the room. "There. See the Count de Martel? You address him as "Your Grace." All the other nobles as "my lord." And, when you speak to the Count, you should speak of hunting. He loves his horse and his hounds." Lucien says as he respectfully looks sideways at Rebekah, who is anxious.

"And, bow deep, Lady Rebekah. The Count relishes a... healthy cleavage." Lucien explains making Rebekah nod, gulping nervously. Lucien sees Finn, Kol, and Klaus looking above them at the ceiling, gets annoyed. "And, for God's sake, stop looking up!" He whispers making them all stop. Lucien then quickly pushes away a stray hair that has fallen from Kol's ponytail and anxiously leads them toward the Count's throne. Behind him, Kol leans forward to smile. "Touch me again, and I'll tear your arm straight off." Kol threatens making Finn roll his eyes. " Behave, Kol, or I'll bury you in the ground to rot." Finn threatens as they move closer to the count.

"This isn't going to work, is it?" Rebekah mumbles nervously. "Just speak as we practiced... And know that you look lovely, my lady." Lucien says assuring her. Rebekah smiles at him in appreciation as Klaus turns to whisper to Elijah. "Are you worried, brother?" Klaus whispers. "We're placing our lives in the hands of a stranger, Niklaus." Elijah responds back as The group finally makes it to the throne of Count de Martel, and Lucien bows dramatically in front of him before making introductions.

"Lucien, you were sent to fetch the Count de Guise!" The count tells making Lucien wince a little. "Indisposed, my Grace. Gout." Lucien says gesturing to the Mikaelson siblings behind him before stepping aside so they can come forward. "May I present his children? The Lords Finn, Niklaus, Elijah, and Kol." Lucien says as He points to each of the men in turn, who bow their heads respectfully to him, before Lucien turns to introduce Rebekah. "Also, the lovely Lady Rebekah." Lucien introduces making Rebekah step forward. The Count looks at the Mikaelsons suspiciously and stands to his feet as he approaches them.

"Your father never mentioned you to me in all our dealings." The count says suspiciously making the siblings look nervously at each other for a moment before Elijah finally gets his bearings and steps forward to address him. "Yes, Your Grace, do forgive us. Father was forever distant with his travels, and, uh, we were largely raised by servants. However, I do know that Father would consider it a glorious honor that we should be introduced to society by your noble hand, Your Grace." Elijah explains before bowing to him, and Klaus, feeling more confident, walks toward the Count as well. "Your Grace, I look forward to hearing tales of your hunting escapades" he says before turning back and gestures to Rebekah. "May I present our sister?" Klaus says grabbing Rebekah's hand gently. Rebekah gulps anxiously and steps forward, smiling as widely.

"Rebekah de Guise de Rockfort Francais." Rebekah introduces, bowing so deeply that the Count gets a very good look at her breasts which satisfies him. "Charmed." She says with a smile.

....
Later, at the party, Lucien is standing at the side of the room when Klaus approaches him. "You've proven to be an immense help." Klaus says making Lucien look at him. "Oh. Of course, my lord." Lucien says but Klaus interrupts him. "Though, I must say, you don't seem at all disturbed about leading us into your master's home." Klaus says making Lucien sigh nervously and look over at Count de Martel, who is across the room talking to Elijah.

"My master is a cruel drunkard who torments his minions for sport. Beggars who seek supper. Vassals who cannot pay a debt... like my own father." Lucien admits making klaus nod in understanding. "Ah" he hums out as Lucien becomes angry. "All these gentile folk, behind their silks and their jewels, are slavers. Killers. Whatever evil you are, you walk among greater evil still." Lucien says glaring at the count. Klaus on the other hand looks at Lucien mpressed by his passion.

"What do I care if you kill the lot of them?" Lucien says scoffing when suddenly, the attendants of the party begin to whisper amongst themselves as two men and theee women enter the room. Klaus sees a certain beauty and stares in awe and curiosity. "Who are they?"
Klaus asks as the two watch the group walk across the room to greet the Count. "Oh, the Count's children-- the Lord Tristan and the Lady Aurora. Her cousin the beautiful lady Aurelia Ferdinand and her brother lord Francis Ferdinand. Next to lady Aurelia is charlotte her lady in waiting. " Lucien introduces them. Klaus's breath caught in his throat as he laid eyes on Aurelia for the first time. She possessed a beauty that seemed to draw in the light around her, making her appear almost ethereal. "She is exquisite," he whispers, his gaze unwavering as he took in her graceful form.

Aurelia Ferdinand was no stranger to admiration; her beauty was renowned, captivating the hearts of many. But despite the throngs of suitors who sought her favor, her brother was fiercely protective, standing as a steadfast guardian against those who dared to approach her. Klaus could feel a magnetic pull toward her, a curiosity that was both thrilling and dangerous.

As the siblings move through the crowd, greeting various nobles and exchanging pleasantries, Klaus remains transfixed, his attention solely on Aurelia. She laughs with an effortless charm, her smile lighting up the room, and Klaus found himself lost in the moment, completely oblivious to the other guests around him.

"Ah, yes. Um, as her brother is wicked, might I suggest that you avoid them completely?" Lucien advises. Klaus's brow furrowed at the warning, but his fascination only deepened. "But would she really be a threat, even to one like me?" he questions, a playful challenge lacing his words as he continued to watch Aurelia with longing. "The Lady Aurelia  doesn't need teeth to tear a man's soul out-- one only need stare in her eyes to be lost." Lucien says with a longing look as the siblings walk away.  "Ah." Klaus hums with as smile.

"Perhaps it is a risk worth taking."
