TW: Mention of d-slur twice
--------------------------------------------------------
Locking eyes with Regina across the field, caused the blonde to stand and waltz her way over to you. You heard her shoes crunch on the patches of grass as she got closer and closer. You wrapped your arms over your body, either because you were cold or because you wanted a border to protect you from the Queen Bee who was a step away.
"Hey." A small voice came from Regina. You avoided her gaze.
"Hey." You managed to let out, even quieter than Regina.
"Can we talk?" She tilted her head, her voice sounded sincere and warm but you still put a guard up.
You finally met her gaze. "You have until Whitney comes back, I'm afraid I won't be able to hold her back if she sees you." You looked down at your injured leg and her blue eyes followed.
Looking down at your leg, her face faltered, almost as if she was worried. "Are you alright? Does it hurt?" Her questions made you mad because it sounded like she actually cared for you.
"I'm fine." You spat out, turning your head to the side in a quick manner which spilled some of your excess tears from earlier. The blonde noticed how stubborn you were but knew it was all her fault for your behavior. The silence grew over the field as you heard the crickets sing.
"Why are you here, Regina?" You questioned coldly.
"You told me to be here." She responded.
You perked your head up. "I'm assuming you read the letter then." You gulped at the realization that she read what you truly felt about her.
"It was the sweetest thing I've ever received. I feel like a dick for taking out all my anger on you that night when all you wanted to do was be there for me." You could see the blonde's eyes get red and tears begin to prick. "I'm so stupid and I didn't mean anything I said but I know I still hurt your feelings... a lot. But I care about you more than anything and seeing you get injured on the field made me realize how much I actually like you." She let out a light laugh, spilling more tears down her cheeks. She kneeled to become eye level with you, softly holding your hands. "I pushed you away when I needed you the most and I felt so alone. Even though we didn't speak for a few days, it's been the worst not having you around annoying me or making me laugh. I miss you, I miss us and I really hope you missed me too." She sniffled.
Tears of your own came crashing down at Regina's statement. You've never seen her be so real. "Of course I missed you. I felt bad for you and hated that I was stubborn enough to not be there for you, but my feelings were hurt."
"I understand and I'm sorry for everything, Y/N." She wiped a tear from your cheek and looked at you as if you light up the sun every morning. Your eyes smiled at one another.
"I forgive you, but you still owe me." You held your head up high, you knew you were being annoying but the blonde soaked in every second of it.
Regina composed herself, "How about I take you out on a date Monday night?" Her teeth bit down on her bottom lip as she waited for an answer.
You smirked, "I'd like that." You both looked down at each other's lips and drew closer to one another.
"Hey! Get away from her!" You heard Whitney shout a few yards away.
You laughed and grabbed ahold of Regina's face, smashing your lips together in a passionate kiss.
"You should run." You advised the blonde. Regina did not want to face the wrath of your best friend so she took your advice and ran to her car.
