You were in a panic after the supposed "earthquake", which surely explains the ground opening up from four different directions and connecting at the center of Hawkins, as well as the hot, ashy smoke billowing from the cracks.

It's been a couple hours since the earthquake happened. A lot of the town has been displaced. A lot who lost their homes have been congregating in the high school. And a lot more are packing their essentials and getting "the hell out of this cursed town."

Your parents aren't home so you're not entirely sure what to do. And you haven't heard from any of your friends either. So when you heard a knock on your door you'd practically jumped out of your skin.

When you opened it there was a woman at the door, makeup and hair done but obviously disheveled. Behind her was a car with a man in the driver seat, and the backseats were almost filled with luggage and smaller pieces of furniture.

"Y/n! Dear!!" The woman practically cried, leaping to trap you in a lung clearing hug.

"Mrs. Carver?!" You surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"The hospital called right before we left the house," She told you, pulling away but still gripping your upper arms. "The authorities called. They found Jason, or what was left of him."

"Huh?" You were confused. "What happened? Is he alright?"

"Well," the woman paused. "Him and a couple of his buddies went to hunt down that freak and bring him to justice. But something happened. Something happened to Jason. That freak did something to him. Something satanic!"

You could only nod, trying to process what Mrs. Carver was implying.

"We're on our way to the hospital now and you can follow us so we can all just get this sorted out and figured out what happened to our sweet boy," Mrs. Carver offered. "We'll wait and then then meet you at the hospital."

You nodded and went inside. You grabbed your car keys. After you locked your front door, you settled into your car, started it, and started after the Carver family car.

You'd found two parking spots next to each other in the hospital parking lot and headed inside together.

The hospital emergency room waiting area was filled to the brim with injured people and police.

As Mr. Carver told the receptionist why they were there you looked around. A group of bleeding people caught your eye in the corner of the room. A, recently found, Jim Hopper stood before the group, along with newly appointed Chief Powell and Officer Callahan. A bunch of teens and kids made the group up, one you recognized as a wet, possibly sweaty, and dirty Steve Harrington. You two made eye contact, surprised. Before you could process the rest of the group of teens and children a body shoved you aside.

"You!!" Mrs. Carver screamed. "You killed my boy! My sweet boy!!"

The blonde woman leaped across the ER waiting room at the group in the corner. She pushed through the group and grappled at a familiar leather jacket, clawing at the young man and his curly hair. He grimaced in pain and tried to push her away.

"Ma'am! Ma'am!" Chief Powell separated the two, pushing Mrs. Carver away from the young adult.

"He killed my boy!" Mrs. Carver cried. "He needs to be jailed!! Put on death row! Something! Anything!!"

"Mrs. Carver!" Jim Hopper bellowed. "Calm down! You are scaring other injured people in this emergency room. Now, let's clear one thing up. After a good, thorough investigation of Eddie Munson and the murders of the victims done by myself, it was found that yes, while Mr. Munson was at the location where Chrissy Cunningham and Jason Carver was murdered, he was found not responsible for their deaths."

"But he did something! Something satanic!!" Mrs. Carver repeated, almost like a broken record.

"Now, Mrs. Carver," Jim Hopper tried to settle the grieving mother. "I've known Mr. Munson since he was housed with his uncle. Mr. Munson doesn't have the heart, nor man power, to break multiple bones without a weapon, nor gouge out eyes, nor rip an entire body completely in half, logically speaking."

Hopper paused before continuing, "Now, I believe Chief Powell and Officer Callahan can help you back to the morgue to ID the body that they believe to be your son."

Mrs. Carver settled, defeated, and nodded. She gently grabbed your jacket sleeve and began to drag you along.

But you were stopped by Officer Callahan, "Family only, i'm afraid."

You nodded and stepped out of Mrs. Carver's grasp, "That's alright. I can wait out here."

The officer nods and leads the Carver parents away and down a hallway.

You turn towards the group, eyeing the people.

It contained the adults of the group, like Steve, Nancy, and Eddie, Robin Buckley, and all the kids except Will and Max, and including Erica Sinclair. Most were bloody, bruised, and dirty, and all looked exhausted.

"Is everyone alright?" You asked, standing beside Jim Hopper. "Where's everyone else?"

"Yeah, we're alright now," Steve nodded. "Just getting checked out. Umm, the Byers are getting food for us, and Max is.. was emitted into a room."

"Is she alright?" You asked.

"We don't know yet," Robin answered, practically pressed to Steve's side.

You nodded, "What happened? You all looked like you fought the devil."

"Pretty much," Robin answered. "I think Mr. Wanted-for-Murder here got the worst of it."

She bumped Eddie's leg softly with her own.

Eddie, sat on the other side of Robin, winced at the small nudge, "Got my stomach practically ripped out. But I'm all stitched up and ready to go, I guess."

"You guess?" You pressed.

"Guess the hospital doesn't want convicts taking up space," Robin joked.

Behind you, someone called Hopper's name.

"Alright kids," Hopper patted your shoulder. "Get settled. Hopefully we figure out what's wrong with Max soon."

Everyone nodded and you settled beside Eddie. You pat his leg and the boy pressed into you, leaning against you.

"Glad you're okay," You told Eddie.

"You don't seem very woeful about Devil Hunter," Robin leaned over Eddie to look at you.

"I'll take all of you over that jerk anyway," You say loud enough for the group to here. "I was gonna break up with him after all this anyway. As soon as I found out he was hunting Eddie down, I knew it was over. Nobody hurts my friends. I'd have killed him myself if it came to that."

"Oh," Robin leaned back and let her head thud against the wall. "I would've loved to see that. What are you gonna tell his mommy and daddy when this is all over. You gonna break their hearts?"

"Nah," You tell her. "His mom's a good person, sweet. But be sure, when school starts back up, I'm gonna be the basketball team's worst nightmare."

"Yeah?" Eddie speaks up, opening his previously closed eyes.

You look at him, "Yeah."

You two stared at each other for a few moments before you heard a gagging sound and multitudes of "gross!!" and "get a room, you two!!"

Eddie huffed, turning his head and leaning his head back against the wall.

You followed suit, closing your eyes to rest after the stressful afternoon. You felt a hand nudge yours a few moments later. You opened your eyes a bit and looked down, seeing a bloody, ringed hand beside your own. You smiled and grabbed it gently, interlocking your fingers with the metalhead.
