April didn't immediately respond to the kiss. But after I feel her softening up and kissing me back. It wasn't rough, it was slow and passionate. It felt as if time had stopped and April and I were the only people here, which we kind of were. Being on a sidewalk but whatever.

I felt a feeling in the pit of my stomach. I didn't know if it was happiness since I was kissing the girl of my dreams or guilt because I was going to end up breaking her heart. However, I just wanted to keep on kissing her.

My hands were on her waist, and her arms were around my neck.

I loved her.

I had never loved anyone before her, not even my ex, but this girl. Man, this girl had a hold on me.

We pulled away breathlessly, her pupils were dilated and her cheeks red. For a moment, we just looked at each other catching our breath.

I was the first one to speak, "Wow," I said.

"Wow," she answered.

I smiled, and she smiled back, laughing a bit.

"April Sanders?" I asked.

"Yes?" she answered with a smile.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked, praying to god she'd say yes.

Her smile grew to the point where her eyes were crinkled, "I'd love to," she said.

I grinned and hugged her, she hugged me back and we spun a bit.

April Sanders was my girlfriend. She was mine, I was hers. We were a couple. Oh my god.

It felt unreal. Like a dream, I wanted to pinch myself.

But no, this was reality. I have a girlfriend, and she's the girl I've been after ever since I met her.

We walked back to her house, the party was still in full swing.

I pulled April to the dance floor and we danced together. We weren't grinding just dancing together. I knew April didn't like that.

We laughed and goofed around for a bit, as much as we could with people constantly bumping into us and one girl who ran screaming like she'd been murdered.

The party ended and I kissed April goodbye.

I looked for the guys and once I found them all we went into my car, only Kian and I were sober. Jake, Sam and Nick were completely wasted.

"Hey Nick?" Jake said giggling, I repeat, giggling.

"Yeah Gabe?" Nick said completely confused.

"It's not Gabe it's Jake you idiot!" Jake said still laughing.

"Oh yeah, what is it Jake?" Nick said.

"Remember Natalie?" Jake said calming down a bit.

"Natalie? My ex, what about her?" Nick said, completely serious, you would have never known he was wasted. Natalie was his girlfriend of 6 months, they were really happy together, and was a touchy subject for him.

"She said she wanted to break up because someone had kissed her when she was drunk, and didn't think you deserved her?" Nick nodded, "she cheated on you with Sam."

Nick didn't answer, trying to wrap his head around the news and then looked at Sam and yelled, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

Sam, who was way too drunk, didn't understand what was going on and squinted his eyes at Nick thinking he was just being weird.
If it weren't for Kian who had taken it upon himself and sat in the backseat between Sam and Nick, Sam would be six feet underground.

"Nick, calm down!" Kian yelled, trying to restrain Nick.

"It's his fucking fault that I lost Nat, how am I supposed to calm down?!" Nick yelled, crying.

No one spoke. I dropped them off and was left with Nick, sober but still crying a bit.

"Nick, listen," I said shaking my head, "you should talk to Natalie."

"And say what?" He said annoyed.

I grew angry, "Look man, you have to stop crying about this. Natalie made a mistake, but I can guarantee you she would take you back in a heartbeat. All you need to do is say you forgive her, that you still love her and you don't care about what happened, you only care about what's going to happen."

"She'd never buy that. You know Nat, she's headstrong." He said grumpily.

I rolled my eyes and turned the car around.

"Where are we going?" He said looking around, becoming worried.

"Natalie Roland's house." I said with a smirk.

Nick began protesting, trying to get out of the car, pounding on my seat. While I was grinning and ignoring him.

I parked my car in front of her house, the lights were still on. Natalie's parents were often away, and she hated being alone in the dark. I knew this because Nick had told me when I had asked him about it.

I'm not a stalker. I have a girlfriend.

"Luke, you cannot possibly be serious." Nick grumbled.

"Nick, she means everything to you," he tried to cut me off but I continued, "don't even try to deny it dude. You haven't been the same ever since you and Natalie broke up. I can see it, and this is really sappy so go and get your girl back. Call me if things don't go your way okay?" I said.

He thought about it and then said, "It's okay man, go home. If she rejects me, I'll walk back home."

I asked him if he was sure and then he stepped out of the car. I watched him go up the stairs and ring the doorbell.

I decided I wouldn't leave him, what kind of friend would I be if I did that?

She opened the door and I saw that she was shocked.

Well who wouldn't? How can you really be when your ex-boyfriend shows up randomly after 3 months?

I could see she was crying and then they hugged. They started kissing and I decided to ruin their joy, like the friend I am. I honked the horn and whooped.

They broke apart and they looked at me. Nick was laughing and so was Natalie. I waved goodbye and turned the window down:

"USE PROTECTION!" I yelled and then drove off.

I laughed and went home thinking about April. I texted her

"Home safe babe, I love you. Goodnight, sweet dreams baby girl xx"

I am so lucky.
