At this point, Damon and Elena went to bed, and Caroline, Bonnie, and Tyler left not long ago. Aurora and my mother were drinking wine and softly talking about god knows what in front of the fireplace. Elijah and I were playing pool while having small talk here and there. I look over at the girls while Elijah makes his move. As if Aurora could feel my eyes on her, she turned her head, and our eyes immediately connected.

"Stefan?" I look at Elijah before looking back at Aurora who is smirking. I turn around and start thinking about my next move. Elijah chuckles as I'm about to hit the cue ball, only to look up at him. I give him a confused look, not understanding what's going on.

"You know I always saw you two as a thing... I do have to congratulate you Stefan" he looks between me and Aurora. I smile and hit the cue ball, making the 4 solid balls fall into a pocket.

"I feel honored, but what am I being congratulated on?" I move around the pool table to give Elijah room to play. Elijah chuckled and looked at Aurora, before turning back to me.

"Rora is someone who... closed off and didn't let people in not even her siblings. Klaus was The closest person who could see a different side of her. To be honest, I don't even think she cries in front of him or anyone for that matter. Rora has manipulated her mind to believe that she can only trust herself, which is my father doing, unfortunately." He spoke low not wanting to get the women's attention. I closely listened and took in everything he was saying.

" If you don't mind me asking, how did Mikael cause the manipulation on herself??" I chose my words wisely not wanting to start anything, since the subject of their father isn't too bright. It was silent while Eljiha played his next move and moved around the pool table.

"In the beginning, Mikael was like any father, a protector, a warrior, etc. Once he had turned us into vampires, he started being more harsh towards us. When Klaus had his first kill, it triggered the wolf side. At that moment Mikael knew he had made a monster and wanted nothing more than to kill him. He almost did, but Rora was able to stop him. Unlike Klaus, she had her first kill earlier and was starting to learn and teach herself how to control it. She had used the little knowledge she had about wolves and was able to stop Mikael. She had helped Klaus over time to learn about the wolves and also taught herself more about it as well. Mikael didn't let this at all... So he forced a witch to come up with something to weaken them, which is wolfsbane. Once Mikael got his hands on it, it just went downhill. He started to torture Klaus and Rora, but she was able to convince Mikeal to let Klaus go. It got worse when he realized that she wasn't his daughter, which changed her. She lost her laugh, her spirit, and the enjoyment of physical touch. I do miss that one, especially since her love language was physical touch when she was younger." Silence was the only thing heard in the room, except for the little chatter happening in the living room. Elijah and I played a couple more times before he spoke up again.

" It won't be easy. She isn't easy, which is hard at times, but once she realizes that you're going to be there for her she'll let you in. Unfortunately, you can't give up on her like we've all done. I remember seeing you guys together the night we killed Mikael. I could tell you've already passed barriers that not even I or Klaus have passed. You make her a different person and I'm slowly seeing the Aurora she was before everything. You can do things that people she has known her whole life can't. You mean something to her, she just doesn't know it yet." At this point in the game, only the 8 ball was left.

"You know, everyone keeps mentioning that night when we were together. Caroline even has a picture!" We both laugh a little at the last part, getting the girl's attention. They start walking over to us as Elijah tries to get the 8 ball in a pocket.

Aurora stands next to me, while my mother stands on the side and watches Elijah play his move. He didn't get the ball in, which meant it was my turn until Aurora took the cue stick from me and replaced it with her glass. I wasn't going to abject, wanting to see if she could get it in, but someone wasn't happy.

"No! That's not fair! You can't just come in the last round and steal the game like that. Give the stick back to Stefan." Eljiha looked at me wanting me to help him, I shook my head.

"You just know that you're gonna lose."

"Really? As if I didn't know that, you're a professional at this." I see Aurora smirking, as Elijah accepts his defeat. She lines herself up and hits the cue ball, making it hit against the side and into a pocket. I drown her drink down, then put it to the side. Lily and Elijah start having a small conversation, and Aurora takes that opportunity to stand in front of me.

" You alright?" I asked taking the stick from her and placing it behind me. She nodded her head, I could tell she was getting a little tired.

"Where you wanna stay the night?" She looked at me then Elijah who was still having a conversation with Lily.

"I don't know..."

"If it makes you feel better Elijah can stay here, my mother has to stay here anyways." I slowly placed my hand on her shoulder not knowing if she was comfortable with it. From the looks of it, she didn't mind it. I notice Elijah looking at my hand on her shoulder and raising his eyebrows as if to say I told you so. I smiled at him before looking back down at Aurora, who was still looking at me. She turns around to face the others, " Elijah do you want to stay here for the night?"

Elijah looks at everyone before looking at me and giving me a questioning look. I shrugged and tilted my head a little.

"If it's not a problem, sure."

"not at all" I smile and shake my head.

"Then I suppose I can stay." He smiled looking at Aurora.

I turned my attention to Aurora who was still standing in front of me, I leaned down a bit to whisper in her ear. " I'm gonna go make the rooms, where are you sleeping tonight?"

"I'm gonna have a room, a lot of things happened today, and just want to be by myself." I nodded my head and walked around her to go to the rooms.
