JACK SPARROW WAS LEGEND among the pirates still left sailing the Seven Seas, and yet his wife was just as famous. Amara Sparrow, King of the Brethren Court and overseer of the Pirate Lords, was talked about just as much, maybe even more, than her husband. The two of them and their adventures were the legends that pirates talked about in taverns, aboard their ships and anywhere anybody would listen.
It came as no surprise when they became parents to a daughter with every ounce of her father's quick wit and her mother's fiery attitude. Lyla Sparrow was just as much a force to be reckoned with as her mother and father, wild like a storm and as untameable as the sea. She grew to be a young woman who remained fearless in the face of adversity and never backed down from a fight.
She lost her mother to a curse when she was sixteen, finding her again nearly four years later. Amara Sparrow was trapped by Blackbeard's curse placed upon the Black Pearl, in a glass bottle which had been a prison for near five years before they managed to free her. After their expedition to the Fountain of Youth saw Jack and Lyla Sparrow reunited with Amara (sort of), they set out to try and find a way to free her.
They wound up in St. Martin, a quaint town on the coast, where Jack's latest plot was coming to fruition. Normally, Lyla loved to be involved with her father's plans, but she hadn't been feeling the pirate's life since finding her mother in a bottle. All she wanted was to free her, and it seemed that she was not alone in wanting to save a parent from a fate worse than death.
When Lyla ran into Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, they banded together to find the trident of Poseidon, the legendary weapon which could break all curses of the sea. Along with a washed-up Jack Sparrow and a girl who chose to study the stars, they set forth on an adventure to recapture the legendary side of life and rescue their families from their cruel fates.
It did not come without a fight, as the Spanish captain Salazar is freed from his imprisonment within the Devil's Triangle after being trapped there by Jack Sparrow many moons before. He is out for revenge, raining down hellfire on all those pirates still left in the Caribbean.
The Pirates of the Caribbean were a dying breed, and it was up to Lyla and Henry to make sure that their blood, their family, did not fall prey to the same fate as their brethren. They had to free Amara Sparrow and bring back the king, and they had to free Will Turner and save the crew of the Flying Dutchman from their curse, all while fighting off enemies on what seemed to be all sides...
