Chapter 7 and Epilogue

W pressed hard on the accelerator causing the engine to roar as they sped down the blacked-out streets of Phoenix gaining on the semi-truck. Ricardo watched as the semi blew through an intersection ramming aside a car causing a pile up as they sped past it. Other cars were on the road swerving out of the way of the speeding semi as he tried to take aim at the truck's tires.

W suddenly swerved to avoid a smashed car as she drove, knocking his aim off as the shot went wide striking the pavement, as he racked in another round more cars spinning out as they were hit from behind by the semi. The large vehicle speeding up as it darted through the darkened streets taking a sudden turn taking out a street pole with ease as it jumped the curve.

Ricardo took aim again as they rounded the corner, the heavy rifle bucking against his shoulder, striking the wheel well blowing a hole through the heavy metal. As they blew through another intersection a police car suddenly came to a stop swinging around sirens started to blare out as it began to chase after them.

"Pull up beside it and try to keep it steady!" Ricardo yelled out as he fired again, racking the bolt as another police cruiser joined in the chase.

"Bitch, bitch, moan!" W yelled back as she swiped past another swerving car as the police began to gain on them, W swerving to try and block them from getting alongside.

Ricardo swung with each evasive swerve the vehicle was taking, doing his best to aim at the semi-truck ignoring the police vehicles. A A-six guard suddenly appeared from the back of the semi rifle in hand firing at both their vehicle and the pursuing police. W swerved again as a police car caught the full brunt of the assault veering off crashing into a building as she sped up.

Ricardo switched targets, steadying himself as he heard the close zips of bullets around him, sending a round into the man physically tossing him back with the impact of the heavy round. Another soon took his place, firing at them out of the back of the vehicle a few rounds sparking off the roof as W swerved again.

Ricardo held on to the sunroof as they took evasive action, the remaining police car suddenly pulling up beside them trying to force them off the road. With a growl he rounded on them putting three quick rounds into the hood of the vehicle, watching as the radiator blew out sending a geyser of stream blinding the driver as he came to a sudden halt.

Ricardo dropped the mag in the rifle, slapping in a fresh one as W gained on the semi-truck rounding another corner getting up onto the highway smashing a few more cars out of its way. The sounds of distant sirens blaring as they got onto the highway, the semi swerving in front of them, Ricardo steadying his arms as he took out the other A-six guard, his body dropping onto the highway.

"Persistent bastard!" Ricardo yelled, gritting his teeth as he fired at the front wheels of the semi, finally seeing one of them blow out, sparks flying from the metal grinding against the concrete.

"It's not slowing down," W called back as she raced forward trying to get alongside the larger truck it swerved towards her trying to ram the car off the road.

"Try to get around front, get me a shot on the driver," He yelled out as she turned wide gaining on the larger vehicle dodging through traffic. The semi-truck kept trying to swerve into them trying to ram them off the road, as W pressed hard onto the side road keeping a few vehicles in between her and the truck. As they passed another ramp Ricardo glanced back seeing a pair of black SUV's roar onto the highway quickly gaining on them, A-six guards starting to hang out from windows rifles in hand.

"Will these assholes give up already!" W yelled from the driver seat rolling her window down as bullets began to crash into the rear armored glass of the range rover. There was a loud pinging sound from the back as W let out a cry, looking at the bullet grazing on her right arm.
