It has been about 2 weeks since Jake had asked me to be his girlfriend. We had been spending a lot of time together, mostly me going over to his place.

I was driving over to his place to see him and I had brought over Smokie as well. I parked out the front of his place and turned off the car, before grabbing Smokie and hopping out. I held onto Smokie and walked up to the door as I knocked.

"COMING!" I heard someone yell as the door opened up.

"Hi Colby" I say giving him a smile.

"Oh hey y/n. Jake is just in the kitchen with Tara" He said giving me a smile and letting me in.

Tara? I raises my eyebrow and walked to the kitchen. "Hi Jake" I said as I walked over.

"Oh- y/n, hey. I didn't know you were coming over today" He said giving me a soft chuckle.

"Um, I texted you" I say smiling a little.

"Right- yea, sorry" He says before going back and talking with Tara.

"Okay then.." I say softly before walking off and sitting on the couch with Sam and Kat.

"Oh my gosh!" Kat says before shuffling over and petting Smokie.

"Here" I say smiling and hand her to Kat. "She doesn't bite or anything."

"She is so cuteee!" She says as Smokie cuddles into her. "Oh sorry- I'm Kat."

"Y/n" I say giving her a smile. "You date Sam, yeah?."

"Yeah and you date Jake" She says as I nod at her.

I glance over to the kitchen, seeing Tara getting a little touchy with Jake, before looking away. I am usually not the type to get jealous but Tara is extremely pretty, making myself feel a little self conscious. I sigh a little and get up, heading upstairs, to the bathroom. I got to walk in when Corey walks out.

"Oh hey y/n" He says giving me a smile.

"Hey Corey.." I say giving him a soft smile. "Can I ask you a question?."

"Yeah, sure" He says crossing his arms.

"Tara.. Does she like Jake or something?" I say looking at him.

"Oh, well she tried to ask him out a while ago, they went on a date but them Jake met you and I don't think he was very interested in Tara anymore" He says.

"Hm.. okay- Thank you, Corey" I say resting my hand on his shoulder before he nods at me and walks off.

I walk into the bathroom and shut the door behind me sighing. So I took Jake away from Tara?

~Later that day~

I was in the kitchen with Sam, Kat, Colby and Corey chatting as we were also drinking a little. I was taking a sip of my beer when Jake walks in with Tara.

"Hey guys" He says to us, showing a big smile on his face.

Everyone says hi back but I just drink my beer once again. I feel a tap on my shoulder and look over to see Tara standing there.

"Hi y/n, Im Tara" She says giving me a sort of weird smile.

"I know" I say giving her a soft smile.

"So you're dating Jake, hm? How is it?" She says as she crosses her arms.

"Uh, fine, yeah" I say before taking another sip of my beer.

"Hm, cute. You know, him and I went on a date before he found you.." She says as she begins to yap and tap into my ear. I was half not listening and looking at Jake.

"But like.. I'm glad he found someone.. different, you know?" She says as she laughs.

"Yep, mkay. I am going to head out" I say before finishing my drink and picking up Smokie off the floor. "See you guys later."

I push past Tara gently and walk to the door, leaving and heading back to my car.

"Y/N!" I heard as I turned around to Jake jogging over to me. "You're leaving?."

"Yes, I am. I will see you when Tara isn't around?" I say giving him a soft smile and opening my car door.

"Look, I'm sorry- She came over and she wouldn't leave me alone. Im sorry I didn't tell you" He says looking at me.

"Jake it's not that- it's like she was trying to make me hate you or something, and she just kept talking and talking about you" I say leaning down and putting Smokie in the car.

"I know- I'm sorry, let me make it up to you. Tomorrow night, i'll come over. I'll bring dinner, okay?" He says looking at me with a sort of sorrow look.

I sigh softly and look at him. "Okay, i'll see you tomorrow" I say leaning over and kissing his lips. I feel him kiss back before I pull away and hop in the car. I watch as he walks back inside and I drive off.

I eventually got home and placed Smokie down on the counter before I fed her. I sat down at the counter in front of her and sighed. Did I really take Jake from Tara? That single question won't stop playing in my head. Maybe she hates me because of it.

I covered my eyes and sighed before I felt Smokie rub her head on my arm. I lift my head and look at her and smile softly as I pet her head. I pick her up and walk to the room and lay down on the bed, placing her on my chest. I let her curl up on my chest and slowly close my eyes, feeling myself drift off to sleep.
