"We can't do anything if we stay separated," Ladybug called the other two heroes. "They are too strong for us to be doing one on one fights."
"Yeah, but how are we suppose to support one another?" Chat asked. He had decided to stay on top of the roofs to dodge the ice beams that Rogue Bane kept shooting towards him. Though Chat soon ran into some of the blue flowers and had to take back to the streets. "If one of us tries to leave to help the other, they will just follow us."
"Then that's exactly what we will do," Batman's voice came through. Both Ladybug and Chat Noir were very confused by his idea. Before they could ask, Batman continued to elaborate. "We can use their unique abilities against one another. Monarch did not realized how well, in theory, these powers could counter each other. Ivy's vines are one of the few things strong enough to hold back Bane. Once Bane is held in place we can use the Joker's bombs against them. The gas won't have any affect on Arkham Rogue, but it will have an effect on the plants and hopefully the blast will knock them all out."
"And then we can make them fuse back together and get the Akuma." Ladybug chimed in with glee in her voice. "That's brilliant, Batman!"
"Just one problem, how are we going to get them to turn on each other?" Chat asked.
"One thing is for certain, no matter the personality," Batman started. "They always hate it when their plans get interrupted or disturbed. So make sure they cause each other as much chaos as possible."
"Ah causing chaos," Chat sighed joyfully. "A cat's favorite pass time."
"Then let's get these tables to turn in our favor." Ladybug said as she threw her yo-yo into the air. Her costume transformed for the second time that day as the magic ladybugs flew around her and up to her yo-yo.
In a flash the yo-yo left behind a red with black polka dot covered hand mirror that was in the shape of a heart. The front of it had little flowers around the parameter of the reflective glass. On the back of it she could see a name sketched on it, which read: 'Nora' in nice cursive writing. Usually, Ladybug questions the Lucky Charm she is given from her powers. Though this time, she felt confident on how to use it right away.
A loud crash was heard from behind her, and as she turned to look, more vines appeared at her feet. Luckily for her, Ladybug was able to jump out of the way before the vines had a moment to wrap around her body, and the vines wrapped around themselves. The other heroes fled their own way to avoid the vines.
When Ladybug landed from her jump, she looked back and was stunned. The vine tower had now reached all the way up to the clouds. It was a bit hard to see what was occurring at the top, but Rogue Ivy had nurtured the bud enough and it had bloomed into a great large flower.
The flower expelled a light blue colored dust that puffed outward. The clouds that were nearby were drawn to the flower, they swirled around multiple times. The clouds became infused with the dust causing them to turn from grey to almost as black as Batman's suit. As their colors changed, they began to release a flurry of snow. If this kept up, Paris could be the center point of a new ice age.
Ladybug looked across the rooftops, she could see Chat Noir trying to hold off Rogue Bane with his Baton. Chat Noir was light on his feet as he spun around like a figure skater. He smacked Rogue Bane on the side and then quickly dug the skates into the ground to fling himself back the other way. Even though Chat was putting all his weight into it, the big brute hardly moved. Rogue Bane managed to grab a hold of the Baton, and no matter how hard Chat tried to rip the baton away, it didn't even budge from his grip. Instead, Rogue Bane took the baton with Chat still hanging on to it and threw the baton and Chat like a javelin at a building.
Ladybug quickly flung her yo-yo around Rogue Bane and managed to trip him back down to the ground. Rogue Bane growled in anger as he attempted to free himself, but it was to no avail. Ladybug, meanwhile, rushed over to her partner to check on him. He had already started to shake off the loose ruble that had fallen onto him from being tossed into a building. Ladybug helped pull Chat up to his feet.
"Thank you, My Lady," Chat said as he put his hands on his back and a pop sound came shortly as he stretched.
"Are you going to be okay, Kitty?" The sound of her concern out a smile on Chat's face, despite the physical pain that he felt as he continued to stretch.
"Don't worry, Ladybug. This cat has more than a few lives left to spare." He winked at her and she smiled with relief. As they attempted to go in for a quick fist bump, they noticed that Rogue Bane had managed to sit up on his knees and pushed a button on his suit. His veins grew and pumped blood throughout his body. His figure grew and managed to out stretch the yo-yo, just enough to ravenously climb out of its hold, like a wild animal.
Panic flashed on both of the young heroes' faces and instead of connecting their fist together, they jumped to the rooftops. Rogue Bane had jumped up, it had crashed through the roof. This did not deter him however, as he repeatedly jumped through multiple roofs to maintain his chase.
"You two," came Batman's voice over their ear buds. "If you bank left, your path will cross with Joker's. I need your help to knock him out of the sky."
"The sky?" Chat Noir questioned.
"He's using his ice gun to slide through the air. My grapple gun can only send me so fast through the sky, and I can't get close enough without being pelted with bombs."
"We are on our way!" Ladybug exclaimed and in unison the two made a sharp turn to the left. It managed to throw Rogue Bane off course but only for a moment. Ahead of them, they could see Batman flying through the sky after a maniacally laughing Rogue Joker freezing everything below him. When Batman got too low to the ground, he used his grapple gun to regain altitude.
Before he started his glide again, he would throw some orange glowing Batarangs at Rogue Joker. It missed Rogue Joker, but it did hit the ice bridge that was formed and melted the area around it. Since Rogue Joker had continued to form more of the ice bridge, the thrown Batarang was virtually useless.
With a look to each other, Ladybug and Chat Noir knew how to start their plan. They propelled themselves right over Rogue Joker's head. He yelped and swerved a little bit as they leapt away. He turned to yell at the two but stopped as he heard a big crash come from behind him. Rogue Bane had continued his chase, but was unaware that his trajectory was going to land him squarely on top of Rogue Joker. Neither one was able to do anything to avoid their collision, and the two smashed into each other and they fell to the ground. The ice bridge, likewise, crumbled into big chucks and scattered all over the ground the below. A nearby subway entrance had filled to the top with broken ice. Big blocks had crushed the tops of cars, and lampposts laid broken like snapped tree branches.
Luckily for the heroes, it was not hard to find Rogue Joker as he laid just beyond the initial zone of destruction. Even though he laid there, slowly breathing and still, the three heroes were cautious as they approached. Batman's visor beeped and he had a read out on the screen of his gauntlet.
"He is unconscious," he said as he approached more confidently. Batman took out a titanium cable from his utility belt and latched it around Rogue Joker, restraining his arms and legs. "However, I would hate for him to wake up and cause more problems for us." He carefully removed the bomb bag from Rogue Joker's suit.
From the debris of the ice chunks came a low growl. A few of the blocks tumbled down, as Rogue Bane's arms burst from underneath. Batman threw the bag over his shoulder and turned to the other two.
"Lead him to the vine tower. I'll meet you there." Using his grapple gun he launched himself up to the roof tops and started to bolt.
"I don't know how much skating my poor legs have in me," Chat whined as his arms dangled in front of him. The blocks of ice shot out as Rogue Bane appeared before them. Some of ice had melted on him as some of the water rolled down his body. "On second thought I think I got my second wind," Chat stood up straight as he said that.
Before leaving, Chat grabbed the tied up body of Rogue Joker and bolted with Ladybug beside him. If it was at all possible, Rogue Bane seemed even angrier than before. He ran off after them. Mr. Freeze's usual monotone voice was completely broken as Rogue Bane bellowed with a tone of rage never heard out of their mouth.
"How dare you make a fool out of Arkham Rogue!" With each stomp of his feet, they punctured the ice and left indents in the concrete. Ladybug and Chat Noir skated straight for the giant vine tower, which the dark clouds had started to create a blizzard that flew out to the entirety of Paris. The heroes had to run the rest of the way with caution. Even though it had been only several minutes, there was already a few feet of snow, which made it hard to perceive any hazards.
Rogue Ivy had paid the ongoing battle with little attention. They were far more concerned with controlling their influence that had over the plants that had spread to every inch of Paris. They smiled with glee as their snow covered lush greenery continue to spread to the other countries of Europe.
"Hey, Arkham Rogue!" Shouted Ladybug all the way up the vine tower. They gave a small glance towards her and started to turn away, until something caught their eye. They quickly turned back to see what Ladybug had in her hand. A surprised look turned to one of malice, an angry snarl plastered on their face. "I know that you want this!" Ladybug held up the small mirror.
"My Nora's mirror!" Rogue Ivy screamed. Monarch's purple outline reappeared in front of them.
'No! This is a trick. You know that is not the real mirror. Do not lose sight of the plan!'
But Monarch's words fell upon deaf ears as Rogue Ivy continued to launch a multitude of vines towards Ladybug and Chat Noir.
"Give me back my Nora's mirror! You should not be holding it. Only her amazing beauty should be gazed upon using that mirror!"
The attacks were wild and unpredictable, but careless as well. It made it a bit easier for two to dodge the attacks. For Rogue Bane, however, he got tripped up on a few of the vines and tumbled into the ground. Rogue Ivy roared in anger as the two heroes continued to get closer to their tower. Monarch tried to speak once more.
'You are doing nothing but hurting yourself! Do you even want to see your wife again?' This time Rogue Ivy responded.
"You daft fool, Monarch. That question is ridiculous. I do not require you to shout in my ears." Rogue Ivy mentally pushed Monarch out of their mind. In doing so, it raised Rogue Ivy's aggression. The vine attacks matched their master's mood and whipped through the air with ferocity. They tore off the sides of the buildings and dug trenches into the concrete. The pipes underneath sprung many leaks and water sprayed every which way.
Even with all of that, the two heroes managed to jump up and through the attacking vines to reach the base of the tower. Rogue's Bane assault came to a crawling halt as the vines had completely wrapped around him. The Venom effects had worn off, and the amount of vines had completely held him back. No amount of straining could free him from the incredibly strong grip of this greenery. The over use of Venom made Rogue Bane weak and he fainted where he lay.
Alright!" Chat cheered. "Two down-"
"One to go," Came Batman's voice directly behind them. His voice made both heroes jump away from him. At the same time that they turned to see Batman, the vines at the base of the tower and came alive and started to swirl around them. Batman handed Ladybug the bomb bag.
"Set it off at the top. You two can get it up there faster than I can. Now go!"
The two sprung into the air without a second of hesitation. While Batman tried to keep up using his grapple gun, he was unfortunately over taken by the vines. Chat Noir and Ladybug leapt in unison, managing to avoid the vines. Though from above Rogue Ivy shot his ice beams down at them, even freezing some of their own vines. The multiple nozzles allowed them to shoot the beams at different angles, causing them to zig zag with caution.
As they got to half way up, they noticed that the vines started to wall off certain parts of the tower. They were able to gain enough leeway the first couple walls, but soon they realized that the would not be able to out speed them.
"Hold on, Ladybug!" Chat said as he held onto her free arm. He placed his baton against the vines behind him and he propelled both of them by extending the baton. This got them through a few more vine barriers that they wouldn't have otherwise, and got them only a few yards away.
Rogue Ivy growled in frustration and aimed their ice beam around the top of the tower. It stretched out pretty far and was extremely thick, making so neither of the heroes' weapons would be able to penetrate through. Even though he knew this, Chat Noir did not slow down.
"Chat Noir?" A hint of worry was laced in Ladybug's voice.
"Don't worry Ladybug, I got a plan." Ladybug breathed a little easier. She knew she could always trust Chat Noir, but that didn't mean that he couldn't act rash at times. But she had full confidence in her partner at this moment. "Cataclysm!" He shouted as he raised his left hand. Dark energy sporadically shot around his open palm.
As soon as he touched the ice with his hand, the ice instantly fell away to ash. Rogue Ivy was so surprised that he was unable to move. When they were close enough, Chat tossed Ladybug up into the sky. As she ascended, she spun around a few times in the air. This created more momentum to help carry the bag further when it was thrown at the stunned Rogue Ivy.
Immediately Ladybug slung her yo-yo at Chat's out reached hand. She could feel the immense force of the explosion behind her. From her peripheral vision, she could see a dark blue smoke cloud expanding as she repelled down towards Chat. The wind from the explosion was grand, it was so strong that it blew Chat's hair back, even though he was further down. It also blew the dark clouds away, causing the heavy blizzard to stop temporarily.
Chat angled his baton against the rapidly deteriorating vine tower. This way they would be able to avoid the falling debris of the decayed severed vines. Batman used the side of his gauntlets, which were three sharp gaged extensions. He had attempted to do this earlier, but the vines would grow back instantly. Now he was able to break down his vine cage to make an opening wide enough for him to aim his grapple gun to the buildings across the street. He grabbed his cape to avoid it getting snagged on any of the thorns, and zipped through the air.
The giant vine tower fell away like twirled pieces of spaghetti falling off a fork. The segments crashed to the ground and on top of each other, some had already became muted in color as they began to die. Among the debris, the unconconsious body of Rogue Ivy fell far away from their destroyed tower. Once the heroes had regained their ground, they made their way to grab the fallen member of Arkham Rouge. They brought the two they had to the lightly snoring giant, still buried under the decaying vines.
They piled each member of Arkham Rogue on top of one another and with a bright white glow, they merged back into one. Their suits were fused into one, making each part of the suit representative of each personality. Had the massive build of Bane, the sleek purple jacket of Joker, the water can nozzle of Ivy, with vines and Venom tubes intertwined.
Chat slammed his baton against the giant ice gun, which separated the gun into two parts. From the edge of the crack, the Mega-Akuma was squeezed out and started to flap into the air. Meanwhile, Arkham Rogue became no more as the black and purple energy washed over them, and in their place Mr. Freeze reemerged.
Ladybug swiped the top of her yo-yo as she said, "No more evil doing for you Mega-Akuma." The top of the yo-yo opened and pink light started to pour out opening. She spun her yo-yo quickly, making a circular ring of pink light as she did it. "Time to de-evilize!" Ladybug threw the yo-yo, catching the Mega-Akuma inside.
She reeled the now closed yo-yo back to her and snatched it in her hand. "Gotcha. Bye Bye little butterfly." She waved at the white butterfly that emerged from the yo-yo and fluttered away.
She tossed the mirror up into the air yelling, "Miraculous Ladybug!" When the mirror was high enough it transformed into thousands of little magical ladybugs and swarmed around the city. In an instant, all that was frozen over was no longer covered in ice. All the destruction that was laid by the battle was repaired. All the vines disappeared and any afflicted by the laughing gas was instantly cured. The three heroes turned to each other and came in for a fist bump.
"Pound it," said by Ladybug and Chat Noir who were smiling up at Batman. Batman, returned their friendly gesture with a smile of his own.
