As the rain poured relentlessly outside, the room of the orphanage echoed with the sound of sobbing. My mother Sarah stood in the doorway, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she glanced back at me her young son, Oliver, who stood clutching her hand, my eyes wide with confusion and fear."Mummy, please don't leave me here," that time I pleaded, my voice quivering with emotion.
my mum knelt down, wrapping her arms around me tightly, trying to imprint every detail of my face into her memory.
"I'm so sorry, my darling," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
"I wish things could be different, but I can't provide for you the way you deserve." She added
I buried my face on her shoulder, my small frame trembling with the force of my sobs. Sarah, my mother gently rocked me back and forth, feeling her own heart breaking with each passing moment.
Eventually, my mum knew she had to leave. With one final kiss on my forehead, she stood up, her legs feeling like lead.
"I love you more than anything in this world." she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As my mother walked away, leaving me standing alone in the orphanage hallway, the pain in her heart was almost unbearable. But she knew deep down that this was the only way to give me a chance at a better life, even if it meant sacrificing her own happiness.
Four years later, in the city, amid the sounds of traffic and the rhythm of life, lies hope, a small orphanage nestled within a neighborhood. Inside its welcoming walls, there were these lovely couple who were looking for a child to adopt, Jane and Mark. They are now my lovely and supportive parents. They stand hand in hand, their eyes alight with anticipation and nervous excitement.
Jane's heart flutters with emotion as she squeezes Mark's hand, her voice filled with determination.
"Mark, this is it. Our chance to make a difference, to give a child the love and family they deserve."
Mark nods, his gaze filled with unwavering support and love.
"I couldn't agree more, Jane. Let's take this step together, and open our hearts to a child who needs us."
With a shared nod, they approach Mr. Williams, the orphanage director, whose warm smile instantly puts them at ease. As they discuss their desire to adopt, Jane and Mark's hearts swell with hope, knowing that they are on the brink of fulfilling their lifelong dream of parenthood.
Led down a hallway adorned with colorful drawings and cheerful murals, Jane and Mark's anticipation grows with each step. They pause outside a door, behind which lies a room filled with the laughter and chatter of children.
Peeking inside, Jane's eyes lock onto a shy little boy, of course it was me, sitting alone in the corner, reading my book, my eyes wide with curiosity and longing. Without hesitation, Jane crosses the room and kneels down beside me, offering a gentle smile.
"Hello there" she said softly.
"My name is Jane, and this is Mark. What's your name?" she added
I remembered my face that day lights up with surprise as I introduced myself as Oliver. In that moment, Jane and Mark feel a connection that words cannot describe a bond that transcends time and circumstance.
As they spend time with that little version of me, playing games and sharing stories, Jane and Mark's hearts swell with love. They know without a doubt that I was meant to be a part of their family, and they are determined to make it official.
