It was clear Alicent's fourth pregnancy was different to her others. It was obvious to everyone (excluding Viserys, who continued to play the role of the clueless king). But the signs were there: the Hightower woman's stomach grew larger quicker than her previous, and was in a constant state of discomfort, constantly indulged in questionable cravings and wished for nothing more than this pregnancy to be over.

She eventually got her wish on a dark summer night as she was attempting to fall asleep when suddenly she felt a pool of water form between her legs. Pulling back the covers quickly her eyes widened with horror at the discovery - her water had broken. Letting out a loud scream it wasn't long until a maid came running in with messy hair and still in night clothes.

"Send for the Maester. The babe is coming"

And with that, the castle scrambled awake as handmaidens and the Maester flooded the queen's bedroom and helped as she prepared to deliver her child. The hours grew long, and midnight was approaching as Ailcent huffed and puffed until she was ready to begin pushing. Though once she began, she wished she could have stopped.

Screaming out in pain as she pushed alone with no hand to hold and no one beside her but handmaidens and the Maester, with no one for comfort. She couldn't really say it affected her as this had happened three times before.

As she cried through the pain, pushing as hard as she could, trying her hardest to get the child out of her, the sad thought crossed her mind. She was about to welcome another child into the world, and no one but herself would greet them. Though this was to be expected, Viserys hardly married her for love but out of duty to his kingdom, and after her first pregnancy with Aegon, he stopped caring about her pregnancies and their other children alltogether. She would try her best to love and care for all her children but she could not fill the void of a father. Someone who she knew they would never receive true parental love from—ever.

"Push, Your Grace", The Maester encouraged, pulling Alicent from her thoughts as she screamed and pushed as hard as she could and sighed in relief when the pain slightly subsided. She had done it. The birth was hardly as smooth as Aegon, Helaena, or Aemond; but all that mattered now was that it was over. The screams of the babe echoed through the room as Alicent let her head fall deeper into the pillow, letting out a deep sigh of relief.

"A boy, Your Grace!" The Maester said, looking at the new babe with wide eyes. "What is it?" she asked as she tried to reach for her newly born child. She halted, feeling the pressure build up in her stomach once again as she placed her hands on her belly. "My Queen?" one of the handmaidens standing close to her asked before looking to the Maester in concern. Who was already looking between her legs to see the problem.
