"What are you doing here, Nathan? You're not supposed to be here".
"Is that how you're supposed to greet your Prince Charming? I saved you, remember?"
Nathan asked with a smirk on his face.
"I already thanked you for that. What are you doing here?" Eva asked frantically. She felt slightly uncomfortable.
"What are you doing out here taking the trash out? Don't you have maids for that?" Nathan asked.
"It's... it's nothing. None of your business. Look, I'm grateful for your help, but I can't be seen with you".
"Ouch! Why?"
"What if my Stepmother or Stepsister comes back? I'm not meant to be seen with you..."
Eva said frightened.
"Relax, okay? No one is going to hurt you while I'm here. I promise".
Nathan said, reassuring her with a smile.
"I don't still know why you came here. Why are you here?"
"Let's go for a ride. I'll get you anything you need. Just name it".
Nathan said, with a smirk on his face.
"What do you take me for? Some poor girl? Look, I know you helped me, alright? But, you have to leave now. Besides, my supposed husband-to-be will be here soon. You have to go".
Eva said, pouting, and folding her arms.
"Please? I'm not going to take too much of your time. I promise".
Nathan pleaded.
"Don't you have work today? Why did you choose to come see me out of all the girls around you?"
"Are you trying to say that I'm a player?"
Nathan asked, staring intently at her.
Eva had to stare away from him, to avoid being captivated by his charming looks.
"Come on. Just one ride. That's all I ask".
"Fine. One ride. But, you'll have to bring me back before noon. I don't want any problems".
"Thanks".
Nathan said with a smile.
He opened the door of his car for Eva, and she entered, and sat comfortably on the passenger's seat, while he went to the driver's seat.
"So, why are you taking me out? What do you want to discuss?"
"Honestly Eva, I don't really know. I just wanted to see you again".
"You did? But, why? I don't get it. I mean, we only just met".
"I don't know either. Let's just forget about that. Now, tell me, what were you doing out there taking out the trash? Don't you have maids for that?"
"Like I said Nathan, that's none of your business okay?" Eva said, with a smug look on her face.
"Come on, don't be like that. We're not strangers".
"Fine then. Since you want to know so bad, my Stepmother told me to do that".
"Why?"
"Let's drop it alright?" Eva said, and a frown formed on her face.
"Fine then. Where would you like to go? My treat".
"Really?"
"Yeah. Consider it a means of apologising to you for coming to see you uninvited".
"You'll take me anywhere?"
"Yeah. Anywhere you want. Just name it".
"Well, in that case, I'd like to go to an Ice-cream shop".
"An ice-scream shop it is then!" Nathan yelled playfully, and Eva chuckled lightly.
They arrived at the ice-cream shop, and Nathan paid for their orders. They laughed together, and talked about random stuff.
Four hours later...
On the way back home...
"I really had fun, Nathan. Thank you".
"I had fun too. I mean, visiting an ice-cream shop isn't something you'd see me do everyday". Nathan said, and they both laughed.
Eva's phone beeped, and she picked it up from her laps.
"Shit! It's almost 2pm! Oh no!"
"What's wrong?"
"What's wrong!? Are you really asking me that, Nathan? I told you to bring me back home before noon!"
"I'm sorry, okay? I didn't know time flew by like that..."
"Just hurry up". Eva said, panicking.
She looked at her phone screen again, and saw 20 missed calls from Katherine.
"Ugh". She said silently to herself.
Soon, they arrived at the house. Katherine's car was parked outside, and another car parked beside hers. Eva could see Katherine standing outside the door to the main entrance, together with the man that she saw in that picture- her supposed husband-to-be.
This time, Eva came down from the car herself, without waiting for Nathan to come open it for her.
"Where have you been!?" Katherine yelled furiously.
"I..."
Eva tried to say, but Katherine interrupted her, by slapping her face.
Nathan watched as all this had unfolded before him, and hurriedly stepped out of his car.
"Hey! What did you do that for!?" Nathan asked. He seemed somewhat furious, and Eva was a bit relieved that he had come to save her- again.
"Why did you do that huh!? She did nothing wrong!"
"Who the hell are you!?" The old-looking man asked. He had a really protruding belly indeed.
"Yeah. Who are you? And, what gives you the right to come to my house and ask stupid questions in my face, huh!?"
Katherine blurted out.
"He's..." Eva tried to.say, but was interrupted by Nathan.
"She's my Fiancée. And, I won't tolerate this treatment anymore!"
Nathan said angrily.
Fiancée!?
Katherine laughed sarcastically. "Your Fiancée?" She laughed again. "Oh dear, you must be mistaken. This is Mr. Michealson over here, and he's her Fiancé, not you".
Katherine said, and the old man nodded.
"I'm not going to allow her to keep subjecting herself to this treatment. How much is your f*cking debt!?"
"Oh, come on now. I'm sure you can't even afford it..."
Nathan hurriedly went to his car, and brought out a bundle of $100,000. Then, he tossed it towards Katherine.
"Here! This should be more than enough to settle your stupid debt. From today onwards, Eva is mine!"
