Laswell doesn't take long and calls Ghost the next day.

"Listen Simon..." her voice dark as she tries to find the right words "...I spoke to the General. He wants Y/N back for the interrogatory. As you well know, she had access to information that even I didn't have access to, top secret information that brought to light General Shepherd's shady dealings. Now the FBI is involved too." She starts smoking for a moment and then continues "They want to know at all costs if she leaked anything to the enemy during the months of captivity."

Ghost listened to the whole speech in total silence, he knows that he can't do anything and his days are numbered too or he will lose his job. "Is it true that the medicines they made me give to her were harmful?"

"Yes, they admitted that those medicines were used in a particular process to... you were right not to give them to her anymore, you told me she's getting better right?"

"Since I stopped giving them to her she started to remember and get less lost in her confused mental state. I just want them to leave her alone and..."

Ghost is interrupted by Laswell's authoritative voice "Simon... you should start thinking about your career too. Your leave ends next month then you will have to return to duty or you will lose your job. I know that Y/N is the priority now but you will have to tell her that she will be interrogated again soon, and this time it will be a long and tiring thing for her. But she will have to do it or else you will both continue to suffer. Shepherd wants answers and won't stop until he gets them. I will send you a summary of the questions they might ask her, I will try to help her in every way to make things as simple as possible. In the meantime, get ready..." the call ends and Ghost remains still for a few seconds thinking about possible future conclusions.

He knows he will have to make an important decision soon but he isn't ready yet, he doesn't have the strength.

His thoughts are interrupted by the ring of his phone, an email, Laswell has already sent him the document she was talking about. Ghost sighs and runs a hand over his face.

"Y/N!"

"Yes? You need to tell me..." you immediately notice the phone in his hand. "Did Laswell call?" Ghost nods. "What did she tell you?"

"They want answers, they will interrogate you again. They admitted that those drugs were used to make you talk or something..."

"When will the interrogation take place? I don't think I'm ready... I..." he places a hand on your shoulder. "Don't worry, Laswell has already thought of everything. She sent me some documents so we could prepare."

You read the documents together and you soon understand that this will not be a simple interrogation but a real obligation to dredge up and tell all the pain suffered during those damned 104 days.

Ghost's phone vibrates, a message saying that the interrogation will take place in three days.

"So soon?" You ask in amazement.

"Y/N, don't worry. I won't leave you alone with those bastards."

If he stays the whole time it means that he will listen to what happened to you, the horrible things you suffered and that they forced you to do. You're not ready to let him know, you're not ready to tell how they broke you into a thousand little pieces.

Ghost sees you thoughtful and already knows what you're thinking. He knows you and your eyes speak for you right now.

"I know what you're thinking. We haven't talked about what happened to you yet..." you freeze, full of hatred and embarrassment.

What happened to you was terrible, a soldier who was abused, tortured and now lost her job because your mind is blown to smithereens. The shame for what happened to you is immense, you wish everyone would forget about you.

"Y/N..."

How can you now face the gaze of your companions, well... your old companions. In your heart you just hope they will never know the whole story.

"Y/N..."

What will the man you love think after you tell him the whole truth?! Fuck, you still see that son of a bitch staring at you from afar. Often you still hear his voice in your ears, his breath, his smell, the taste of him...

"Y/N!" Ghost's voice snaps you out of your thoughts. You didn't realize that you were still lost in that darkness, in that tornado that takes you away from reality.

"Sorry, I was just thinking." You take a deep breath. "I feel ashamed for what happened to me, Simon. Sometimes I still feel like I'm there. Shit, you don't know what they did to me." You hide your face in the palms of your hands.

"I understand that it's difficult for you to talk about it and I understand that you feel humiliated." Ghost takes your hands off your face. "Look at me and don't hide from me. I'm here, and I will be whenever you need me. Don't feel ashamed, not in front of a man who is the shadow of his past like a ghost."

His words warm your heart and you touch his face, only now you notice the tiredness his eyes are feeling, the pain and fear. You remember that even during missions the only part he let see were these deep, tired and always thoughtful eyes. He never stopped suffering...

"Thank you for what you are doing for me. Thank you..." You kiss him on the forehead, the tip of his nose and his lips. With a deep breath hew wraps his huge arms around your body, resting his head between your shoulder and neck.

"I'd rather tell you everything now than let you find out what happened to me among strangers."

Ghost looks at you and prepares for what he will hear.

That night you opened that chest in which you had enclosed all those things you didn't want to be discovered, emotions and sensations all came out together, uncontrollable and painful.

Ghost listened to you the whole time, he didn't judge you, he didn't let you lack his support. But unfortunately there is a storm of emotions inside him, his heart breaks. Even though he spent an entire life repressing his feelings and denying himself happiness, now the pain you felt is also his. The brutality of the things that happened to you are unjust, horrible they are... a cause of your work.

Your revelations end as your head begins to pulsating again and a deep tiredness enters even your bones. Ghost takes you to bed and you stay embraced until the morning.

Ghost has nightmares from when he was young and his father was the horror he had to face every day. Instead you sleep peacefully as if you had lifted a heavy weight that you had held onto for too long, a secret that you needed to reveal.

The day of the interrogation is approaching and you will have to be ready for what awaits you.
