Three years have passed since the occurrences of the previous season. The subsequent sequence of events came as a complete surprise and instilled a sense of terror. And It all starts on [MAY 9, THURSDAY]
At Sunrise Studios in Hollywood, California, the TV show 'Burn Book' is currently in its third season and filming a cheerleading dance sequence late at night. Elena Benjamin, the newest it girl in Hollywood, is one of the actresses in the scene. After the director yells cut, the actors and actresses leave the set, change into their robes, grab their water bottles, and bid farewell to each other. Elena heads to her trailer, changes out of her cheerleader costume, and checks her schedule for the next day, finding that she has no scenes to film. Excited, she leaves her trailer and stops by co-star Rose Bethingham's trailer to see if she has any scenes to film tomorrow. Rose informs her that she has a night scene to film, making Elena sad as she wanted to hang out. She bids farewell to Rose and leaves. As Rose removes her makeup, she receives a call from an unknown number, which she initially declines but eventually answers. A conversation unfolds between them, brimming with mystery and tension. The individual informs Rose that they are unaware of the truth about Elena and her actions from years ago. Rose is perplexed, but the killer proceeds to vividly describe how Elena committed heinous acts and managed to evade justice.
Rose fails to comprehend the connection between Elena's past and herself, yet the killer persists in discussing revenge and the impending harm that innocent people, starting with Rose, will suffer at Elena's hands. Rose remains bewildered until a loud knock resonates through the door of her trailer. Startled, Rose hesitates to unlock the door, opting instead to call out a greeting, only to receive no response. With caution, Rose slowly unlocks and opens the door, only to discover an empty space outside. She steps out of the trailer and stands in the middle of the trailer lot, scanning her surroundings. Suddenly, the killer sends Rose a video capturing her emergence from the trailer. Startled, Rose looks up, only to be rushed by the killer wearing a ghostface mask, who repeatedly stabs her in the stomach. Rose's screams fill the air as the killer relentlessly continues their assault. However, Rose manages to knee the killer in the stomach, causing them to fall to the ground. Desperate to escape, Rose crawls away, screaming, while the killer taunts her by slowly advancing and toying with the knife. Just at that moment, another murderer emerges right in front of Rose. Rose, feeling utterly hopeless, pleads for her life, but the killer swiftly seizes a knife and ruthlessly stabs her in the eye. Not stopping there, the killer proceeds to repeatedly stab her in the head, while the other killer watches on. As if the brutal stabbing wasn't enough, the second killer cruelly stomps on her face multiple times. The other ghostface killer appears visibly annoyed as the second killer contemplates further disfiguring her face. Eventually, growing tired, the second killer ceases the assault and takes a moment to catch their breath.
The other killer approaches and gestures towards a nearby trailer, prompting both of them to drag Rose's lifeless body inside and shut the door behind them. They callously drop her body onto the ground and remove their masks, revealing themselves to be two students from the University of Southern California named Justin and Travis. Travis confronts Justin, questioning why he went so far in his brutality. Justin defends his actions, claiming that he did it for the sake of creating a dramatic effect. Annoyed, Travis inquires about their plan, to which Justin simply suggests leaving the body there. Travis expresses his confusion, wondering why they wouldn't dispose of it elsewhere, but Justin fails to provide an answer. Frustrated, Travis decides to leave. Both of them put their masks back on and exit the trailer.
In the present day [MAY 10, FRIDAY] In a penthouse located in Beverly Hills, Elena, Steven, and Evan convene in the dining room for breakfast and discuss Evan's future in college. Elena, a college dropout, Steven, a graduate from NYU, and Evan, currently a junior at UOSC, engage in conversation until breaking news of Rose Bethingham's murder at sunrise studios interrupts their morning. Elena is visibly shaken by the news, prompting Steven to check on her well-being. As they browse the internet for more information, Elena becomes increasingly distressed. Steven receives a notification on his phone, and after reassuring Elena, he decides to leave. Despite Elena's insistence that she is fine, Steven bids her goodbye with a kiss and departs, leaving Evan behind. Evan, realizing he is running late, briefly considers asking Steven for a ride but opts to take the bus instead. He kisses Elena goodbye and hurries out, accidentally leaving the door unlocked. Meanwhile, Elena remains fixated on the news updates. Steven and Evan share a warm hug in the elevator before going their separate ways. Steven swiftly heads towards the garage, while Evan gracefully exits the building and proceeds to the nearby bus stop.
