Kakashi looks at the blinking letters above the heavy steel doors. "Gate 97", the name of the doors to the plane he is about to board... Another plane trip home from another long, boring business trip, his asshole of a boss sent him on.

You would think by the amount of trips he's done for the company he would be promoted already. Which he would have been considering the past 2 years he stayed late at the office, plus the additional hours off the clock to meet with clients during lunch breaks. After the last major project he oversaw as a senior employee, he expected himself to be promoted to project supervisor.

That's when the hard reality of the corporate world struck, and the supervisor job went to some entitled, zero-work experience, executive's nephew. Kakashi is pretty sure the nephew doesn't have any kind of managerial experience, much less worked at an office at all.

What made things worse is that the nephew must have sensed that Kakashi was due for the job, and thus his main competition. Kakashi figures the asshole sends him on these endless business trips to keep him out of the office, so that he wouldn't look bad in comparison.

Kakashi lets out a long sigh, raises his arm to rub the back of his neck, and turns his head side-to-side. The strap of his heavy saddle bag digs into the muscle of his right shoulder, so he tries shifting his shoulders and twisting his back to stretch out the aches. It does little to soothe the pain.

The constant traveling is wearing on his mental and physical health. All the glamor and excitement from traveling is lost on him now. He can't even enjoy the trips since there is only time for work and meetings, then he's off to the next city for more work. Just this morning, Kakashi gave himself a fright when he looked in the mirror. He swears he looks like he aged 5 years in the past few months alone.

"Flight 210, departing for Tokyo Airport at 21:30, will start boarding in the next half hour at Gate 97. Please gather all your belongings and wait for your group to be called."

Kakashi looks at his phone to check the time. Perhaps he can go get some coffee and a sandwich to take on the flight– There's just enough time if he hurries. He turns around, vaguely thinking about which shop he should go to, when his head does a double-take as something catches his attention.

A short distance away, there is a man looking down at his phone, seemingly oblivious to Kakashi standing a few feet away. He has short, dark hair and orange-framed glasses, and wearing a V-neck shirt with a long blue jacket hoodie and tight jeans. The whole ensemble has an effortless appeal to it, with perfect fit and color, enhancing the person's natural beauty.

But his face was the most captivating part. There is a boyish sweetness to his face, despite the bored yet focused expression directed toward his phone. And the way his dark short hair framed his face added to the cuteness. Overall, the man is very attractive with an aura of calm, yet charming aloofness. And beautiful dark-colored eyes with long eyelashes.

Kakashi continues standing there gawking for a good solid minute, completely forgetting what he was doing. The other male furrows his brows, then tilts his head up to look in his direction.

Kakashi quickly turns away and speeds off. A blush heats up the back of his neck as he tries to make his escape look normal and not awkward at all.

Shit, what the hell am I doing? Staring at someone like that... Geez, I hope he didn't notice.

Pushing thoughts of that embarrassing moment away, he goes to one of the nearby shops to get a coffee and a sandwich.

.........

About a half hour later, Kakashi carefully drinks his coffee while walking back in the direction of the gate. He hears the PA system calling: "Gate 97 is now boarding. Groups 1-3, please form a line and have your boarding tickets and passports ready..."
