Upon arriving to my mothers chambers I am greeted by her guard I gasp throwing my arms around him
"Criston I missed you so much" he hugged me back quickly before pulling away to access me
" Princess you are back, does your mother or anyone else know? I was not alerted." He questioned
"No I wished for it to be a surprise. I was supposed to arrive tomorrow but it seems like Bluefyre was in a rush to get home. Is my mother busy I wish to see her before giving Cregan a tour of the castle." I say excitedly
"To my knowledge her grace is just reviewing letters from different lords, I am about to switch with another guard so that I can go train with prince Aemond but I can wait and escort you both to the training grounds if that is what you wish, Princess" he offered
"No that's quite alright Cole, I can make my way down on my own. Oh and please do not tell any one of my arrival I still wish for it to be a surprise." I smiled he nods and moves away from the door allowing me to knock on it
"Come in" my mother said from the other side of the door giving Cregan and Cole one last nervous look I push the door open. Both Cregan and I walk in but my mother still hasn't looked up from her stack up of papers.
"What is it I can do for you." My mother question
"Not the welcome I was expecting for your favorite daughter, mama"I teased. Her head shot up and within a second she shot out of her seat pulling me into her arms hugging me tightly. She pulled away from me cupping my face.
"Oh my sweet beautiful girl how you've grown, You didn't tell me you were here. Why was I not notified I would have met you in front of the dragon pit. Sevens you've grown up so much my darling girl." my mother cried with teary eyes I smiled back at my mother
"I told the guards I wished to surprise you." I pulled away from her motioning for Cregan to approach us "And you remember Cregan, he is here to be my sworn shield so theres no need for me to pick one while I am here." My mother pulled Cregan into a quick hug whispering
"Thank you for taking care of my daughter. Come sit the both of you, You both must be hungry from your trip. The maids just brought some food not long ago." my mother said ushering us to sit at the table on the balcony.
We sat with my mother for an hour catching each other up on the things that has happened in the years apart. With Cregan commenting every now and then.
"If you excuse me mother I promised Cregan that I would show him around a little bit before we're due in the throne room for the petition." I respectfully said
"Of course my dear, tonight we will have a family dinner again. Your father wishes for the entire family to dine together again. Oh and do visit your father before the petition he misses you greatly, oh and Cregan you are invited as well. Not her guard but as family, that means Rhaella you must pick another guard to switch out with Cregan. And welcome back the both of you " my mother said kindly with one last hug, Cregan and I made our way out of her chambers and headed down to the training grounds to find Cole.
