Chapter 2: A Fateful Encounter
Vinn had already left the next morning without a message. When Arissa wanted to go out for groceries or even a small sit down at a park, he forbade her. So most of the groceries were done via Uber Eats since it was the only way and it was paid through their shared bank account.
However, she yearned to go out and enjoy the sun, even for a little bit.
It was sweet that Vinn was overprotective of her and their baby, but she wished he could trust her that she could handle a small walk to the park that was just the opposite of their apartment. Plus, there were security guards in the area so she was confident about walking for a short distance.
But she had to abide to his orders because his words were law.
When she talked about these situations to her parents through video calls, they immediately dismissed it as her complaining for things she should be grateful for. Before moving to Australia, she was hesitant about studying abroad because it would be an opportunity for her to help her family but she met Vinn.
He was like a movie star at the university they were both studying and out of all of the girls that fawned over him, he picked her. It was straight out of a fairytale and it inspired her to write and publish her own stories.
However, both him and her family told her that it won't get her any income and she paid the price by getting scammed through a vanity publisher that squeezed out more money out of her than she had anticipated.
When Vinn asked for her hand in marriage, she was thrilled because it reminded her of those fairytale weddings she had seen on TV. However ever since she had gotten pregnant, Vinn spent more time at the office than at home.
She understood how much his work meant to him, but she wished they would at least have dinner together or cuddle on the sofa while watching something on their television. Yet, she yearned for something more.
They have not even kissed ever since their wedding.
"Your daddy's a very busy man," she told her baby by rubbing her tummy. "I wished he was here and gets to play with you."
And another thing, Vinn was certain that their baby would be a boy. Instead of wanting to get the ultrasound to determine that, her husband trusted his gut. Arissa sighed, getting up to clean up the house the best she could while waiting for the groceries to arrive.
She hoped that he was in a good mood when he comes home.

During his flight, he scanned multiple areas for prey and potential threat. The little insects that were referred to as humans were no more than nuisance to him. However, that changed when he observed something from his sitting position at the sandy desert.
He spotted two people walking across the desert, a male and female by the looks of them. They were arguing just by the sounds of their irritable squeaks. Honestly, he thought to himself, watching them would get boring but at least he wasn't like Ni, who would blast them with his electrical thunder just because of their existence.
Instead, he laid low in the sand, thankful that his scales matched the colour of the area that surrounded him. Plus, the heat was a nice contrast with his cool scales.
The two humans who were arguing started to fight one another just like how he had fought Godzilla. Only, their fight was more dignified than whatever this was...
Seeing that he had enough of their irritable squeak, he lets out a quiet "Bidibidibidi" in their direction. Watching their angry faces transformed into fear and uncertainty caused the false king of space to smile his cruel smile.
Smelling their fear, he repeated his cries until they began to wail and ran away. As much as it amused him, he knew he had to leave before those people contacted Monarch, the ones allied with Godzilla.
He failed to conquer this planet but that will take some time.
For now, he would recuperate and regain his strength before calling that lizard to fight him once again.
With the beat of his wings, he created a storm that covered the scorching hot sun. Since he was a 900 feet tall space dragon, the wings also brought a rough sandstorm that blew towards a nearby town. Taking off to the stratosphere, he blasted a Gravity Beam from his mouth and then flew somewhere away from the desert.
His hearing picked up a few cries of people seeing his massive size and flew faster with the storm riding his back. Now that he had a body of his own without his brothers, he wondered about his new abilities.
"BIDIBIDIBIDIBIDI!!" he roared to the darkened skies, clouds starting to become cumulonimbus and lightning crackled around him. Bullets from helicopters do not hurt him but he figured this would be a distraction in order for him to pull off a new ability.
The wind was strong, allowing himself to be carried forward with his wings spread out until he collided with a nearby building. Sensing the threats drawing near, he scrambled into an open window before shutting it with his tail. Breathing heavily, he smirked at his newfound ability:
Mass-shifting.
During his time in space, he heard about his kind being able to change their size whenever they pleased but he never knew that rumour was true. It only took one good head to start it all.
While laying low, he decided to take in his surroundings to find potential escape plans or sustenance to give him strength. Walking inside of a human den was something beneath him but at least his brothers weren't around to see him crawling in such a space.
Just as he was going to exit out of the room, he heard a sharp gasp. Whipping his head toward the sound, he was met face-to-face with a human female with long mane and a protruding belly. Before she started to scream, he stopped her with his spiked-tail and focused his attention to her fearful expression.
::If you scream or try anything, I will not hesitate to have you as my next meal.::
He warned her via telepathy. It was an ability he had used to command his brothers without roaring out orders. It was also useful to send threats to some people when he woke up from the ice.
The human only nodded, still covering her mouth with her hand. Good, he thought to himself at such submission. If it was Ni, he would have destroyed her immediately while San...
Let's not talk about San...
Sniffing at the scent of something citrusy and a bit of fear, he decided to intimidate her with his height in his new size. He was somehow pleased that she was only able to reach up to his torso when standing on two legs.
"P-please, don't hurt me," she begged him, clutching her swollen belly.
