—————————————————————————
In the morning, when Mae woke up, I wasn't next to her, anymore. Her eyes were burning because she had slept with her contact lenses. She put on a t-shirt and some shorts and got out of her bedroom. That's when she saw me. I was sleeping on the couch wearing one of her shirts and joggings. She went to the bathroom to take off her lenses and put on her glasses.

An hour later, when I woke up, she was drinking some coffee, sat down at the kitchen table. I groaned from pain because of the horrible headache I had. I sat up and my eyes met hers.

« CJ : Since when do you wear glasses?
Mae : Really? That's the first thing that came to your mind?
CJ : Well, I'm sorry but last night is a blur and that's the first thing I saw. What happened?
Mae : You don't remember anything?
CJ : I think my memories are messed up with a weird dream.
Mae : What weird dream?
CJ : I remember kissing you. »

Mae's jaw clenched and her eyes were, now, wide open.

« CJ : What?
Mae : It wasn't a dream. That happened.
CJ : I kissed you?
Mae : You did more than that.
CJ : ... Did we- ?
Mae : Finish your sentence...
CJ : Did we have sex? »

Mae closed her eyes and nodded.

« CJ : We fucked?!
Mae : Okay...
CJ : How come you remember and I don't? Usually it's the other way around.
Mae : Yeah, I might have forgot to tell you something. I handle alcohol very well.
CJ : Let me ask you this. Were you or weren't you drunk, last night?
Mae : Not completely.
CJ : So, no headaches and you remember everything? »

Mae nodded.

« CJ : That's not fair. We fucked and I don't remember it.
Mae : Are you being serious, right now?
CJ : Of course not. I'm just joking. I don't care if I don't remember. What I care about is if I hurt you.
Mae : You didn't.
CJ : Was it good?
Mae : Yeah.
CJ : Did I like it?
Mae : Seems like it.
CJ : Can you give me some details?
Mae : What?
CJ : Yeah like what happened.
Mae : You wanna know how you kissed me when we got here and asked me if I wanted to do it?
CJ : I asked you that?
Mae : Yeah. That was sweet.
CJ : Well, I don't do that only when I'm drunk, by the way.
Mae : Okay?
CJ : Cause I used to ask my ex, Jaz, if she wanted to do it every time I wanted to, so. ... Am I wearing your clothes?
Mae : Yeah...
CJ : And we did it in the bedroom, right?
Mae : Yes.
CJ : Then, why am I on the couch? Did you throw me out of bed in the middle of the night? »

Mae laughed.

« Mae : No! I don't know why you're on the couch. You were already here when I woke up.
CJ : So, I'm sleepwalking, now?
Mae : Well, if you do, alcohol tend to increase the chances of sleepwalking. Especially, if you drink before going to sleep.
CJ : Oh, thank you, Doctor. »

I made a sarcastic comment. Mae smiled because of how I called her. I rubbed my hands on my face. This headache was killing me. Mae got up from her chair and poured me a glass of water to give an aspirin. She put the glass on the table next to me.

« CJ : Thanks. »

She smiled at me.

« CJ : Can we do it again? »

Mae looked at me, shocked.

« CJ : So I can try to remember?
Mae : No.
CJ : I thought you liked it.
Mae : I did. But it doesn't mean I wanna do it again.
CJ : I'm messing with you, you know?
Mae : It's not funny.
CJ : Can I at least kiss you? And I'm serious, now.
Mae : Why?
CJ : To make sure I wasn't dreaming.
Mae : You weren't dreaming.
CJ : Then let me kiss you.
Mae : No.
CJ : That's not fair. You get to remember everything and I get nothing. »
