She finally makes it, while she is sweating lightly a person comes up from her behind her and pokes her on the shoulder with her screaming Aaahhh outload and turning around.

The person was revealed to her mother Helena Sandsmark, the great archeologist, traveler of the unknown, all-round good mother, and great punisher if she ever finds about Cassie's real internship.
