you tell me all the things

Run.

That was what I should have done. Not turn around and meet Jenny.

Jenny was Millicent Olser.

Millicent was a senior like me that year and I did not really know her except the fact that there were once rumors that we were going out.

Now do not judge me or anything it is just that... I tried really, I tried to associate her with pleasant things but she was not coming close.

The moment I turned around she yelled my name and hugged me. Honestly, if you were standing in front of me that day you could have seen my eyes widen and you would have been shoved away cause Milli hugged me with her palms in front ready to push away anything between us. I was so relieved that nobody heard her scream "PIH-TAHR!" because people were apparently yelling something else.

That moment with all the commotion going around, I froze and analyzed what in the halibut was happening.

A) Jenny was Milli.
B) She was hugging me.
C) I could feel something wet on my chest.

The third thing seemed to bring me back to my senses and push her away. Apparently her mouth was open the whole time and a thick icky trail of saliva was left oozing down the front of my sweater.

I did not even get to process the thing clearly cause she quickly dragged me away and led me to the empty hallway.

I remember asking myself how I got into this mess. Things were escalating so quickly that I was having a hard time to process.

When we were out of the commotion that is of the cafeteria, I did not let her fully drag me away. I whisked away my hand and asked what she was doing.

She gleefully smiled and responded, isn't she who I was waiting for? She said that she was my mystery girl. The love of my life.

Like I said the date was actually kind of fun. Marlon kept on insisting that he wanted to win me a giant panda stuffed toy at the Throw-a-Hoop Challenge, what's funny was I ended up winning it by myself.

*laughs hard*

While Marlon tried other challenges unsuccessfully, Alexa and I sat in the diner discussing our plans for the Prom. Alexa was our Student Council President and she was good at it too. All year long the Student Council have done feats that our predecessors have only managed to plan. I was so proud of what we've done but the Prom was something else, this would be remembered by every attendee and as much as possible we wanted it to be the best Prom Pionneer has ever had.

I've always admired Alexa cause when she wants something to happen she'll do everything in her power to get it. Sometimes I wish I was her. Someone that doesn't just let go.

You see, I've known Alexa since we were practically babies. Her mom and my mom were besties in Berkeley and they wanted to instill the bond that they had with us, but at first we hated each other. We were the definition of mortal enemies. But ever since that tragic day, Alexa and her mom helped me and my mom move on. That day my dad left.

I kind of choked and coughed after that. It seemed as if I could not catch my breath, my asthma attacks clearly only knew the definition of "bad timing".

As I coughed, Milli did not even seem to care she began explaining that she has had a "thing" for me ever since I protected her from the jocks during freshman year.

OK. Let me get something straight. I only picked up her pen, and told Derek to go away. THAT.WAS. NOT. PROTECTING! THAT. WAS. SIMPLY. HELPING!!! She clearly had no idea about the difference between the two.

She continued on that after that incident she considered me as her hero. She said she couldn't believe that I couldn't get the message she sent me the first year.

Now that I think about it, Percy, Luke, Ron they were FRIGGIN all heroes!!!!

*GROANS*

That was the reason why she continued on with the notes. She thought I would get another clue when she started spreading rumors that we were going out. She told me it was eventually going to happen so why not spread it already.

That seemed to worsen my attacks and I doubled over, palms on my knees coughing but Milli STILL continued on with "our" love story.

Man, that girl was something else.

Alexa had three ideas for the party: the first was Retro Style, second was Masquerade esque Ballroom and the last was British Top Hat Theme.

After a minute of deliberation we clearly had the same inclination for the Masquerade theme. It was cliche but it was classy and elegant. Retro was already the theme two years prior and we didn't think the top hat thing would be followed by everyone so masks it was.

Before we left, Alexa confessed that she's been planning to ask a guy out. That definitely piqued my curiosity but at first I told her wasn't it supposed to be the other way around and then I began with the barrage of "Who is it"s.

But ever secretive Alexa only gave me a clue, she said it was Mr. Gary.

Like that was going to help! I knew practically everyone at school (Yearbook preparations made sure I've memorized everyone's names) and the Gary's were all girls. She just ignored the question for the rest of the night.

I listed and asked all the guys she's ever liked and trust me that was an awful long list, but she just shook her head and looked elsewhere for every name.

I had one person on mind that I didn't want to say because I thought that he was too far from the eyes of Alexa and I was kind of hoping that he'd ask me.

Here's how I put an end to all things Jenny. After I sucked in all that was left of my inhaler and regained my strength, I grabbed her by both shoulders.

She must have thought I was going in for the taking because she started puckering up and extending her lips, to be honest she looked like the emoticon she drew on the first note she ever gave me, but I just shook her and asked her to stop.

As I put my arms down, I told her that I have always thought that she was a nice girl even up to that moment but that was all there was to that. I told her that I appreciated all the notes and letters she's ever sent me but I cannot return what she was feeling for me.

I had to snap a few times in front of her eyes because she just stood there kind of at a loss. Having that glossy eyed look.

When I was about to ask her if she was okay, she smiled. That scared the blazes out of me. I kind of recoiled in fear while she beamed her pearly whites. I would like to repeat. That. Girl. Was. Something.

She then laughed hysterically and sort of slapped me in the shoulder.

I sort of gave one or two chuckles until she finally stopped.

She said we were never going to work anyway. She told me she was too good for me. And yes I am not changing anything here! That was what she said!

She told me I wouldn't be able to handle our relationship so it was better if she broke up with me right there and then.

Then it was my turn to have that glossy eyed look. She just patted me on the shoulder and went back to the cafeteria.

*sighs*
