In a world where people can coexist in the real world, limbo (between the real world and the mainframe) and the mainframe.
[In this timeline, the people from the real world are sworn enemies of the people from the mainframe. Due to the war between artificial intelligence, the real world has some major issues with the ppl from the mainframe]
A devoted fanboy in the real world has gradually gained attraction to a member of a group based in the mainframe, a very parasocial relationship. He knows his dreams are all chaotic fantasys and will never come true. But one night the fanboy and the group member enter the limbo, due to the source code malfunctioning, and cause of that malfunction they are transported to the limbo with a timer above themselves. They first encounter eachother in a binary code filled world, where they first interact and converse.
The idol proceeds to say'
"Hi."
"H-hello.." our mc replies
"You're not from around here are you. You have no designated number, are you perhaps from the "real world"?
"Yes, I am actually."
The idols softly giggles in amusement
"I've never seen one this close before, so fascinating.."
Drawn to her interest, our mc proceeds to talk to her more..
Both also seem to gain feelings for one another but the idol knows that it'll be just another twisted fantasy but she doesn't give up on the fanboy. Both of their timers end and get sent back to the real world again. Now since the fanboy got to know the idol, his feeling for her only increased.
But due to them being in 2 different worlds they can't really go anywhere searching in there own worlds. They never really exchanged names, locations or numbers. They just began talking in the limbo, looking back at his foolish actions, our mc now tries to find ways to get in touch with the mainframe while the idol tries her best to keep her composure due to the amount of emotions she is feeling right now, she hasn't felt any of the mixed feeling in a long time. She makes up her mind and focuses on moving on, but yet she still has faint flashes of memories from the time they shared together
The fanboy has little to no hope left yet he tries and tries to find ways because he knows that their connection was beyond what ai could imitate.
The idol moves on from the experience cause she doesn't want to be seen romantically with a fanboy or it'll "ruin her reputation".
But our mc stays determined, cause he knows that their connection was still beyond kinetic energy. And so he starts his journey, travelling to find ways to get in touch with the mainframe
