Two years had passed and Yomi had grown accustomed to her new life. She was now forced to sleep with the King whenever he demanded it. It was Yomi's eighteenth birthday, but since they didn't celebrate the last one, she wasn't expecting anything. In the middle of the night, the entire castle awoke. Yomi slowly and silently left her room after getting dressed and fixing her hair. She looked around before stepping out, not wanting to disturb anyone. As she walked down the hall, she almost ran into Issei, one of the butlers and her demonic counterpart.

He leaned against the wall and looked at Yomi from head to toe. "Well, well... if this isn't the birthday girl~"  Yomi rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Can you please keep it quiet? You'll wake them all up." she said before walking past him. Suddenly, Issei grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall, towering over her. "Such a bad mood... on your own birthday? Why don't you give me a taste of what you give to the King too..." Yomi turned her head to the side, sighed. With a simple hand movement, Yomi's eyes begun to glow a little, while Issei grabbed his chest. He slowly slid down the wall, groaning in pain. Her eyes stopped glowing and it seems the pain also stopped for Issei. "This was just a little taste... But next time I will make sure to make your blood boil out of your ears!" She made clear, before she finally proceeded to walk.

She walked towards the large staircase that led down into the main hall. As she descended, she saw Selene and Sebastian walking up to her. "Good morning, Yomi." Selene greeted her, followed by Sebastian who bowed to her. He took her hand in both of his and smiled at her. "Happy birthday, my dear."  he said, while Selene presented her with a small gift. Both Selene and Sebastian were very close to Yomi, especially Selene, who had helped raise her since she was only ten years old.

Yomi took the gift, looking confused. "Is this for me? Why?" she asked, blinking a little before opening the ribbon. "Of course it's for you, it's your birthday after all!" Selene remarked, smiling at Sebastian, who was curious to see Yomi's reaction. As Yomi unpacked the gift, she widened her eyes in surprise. "It's a dress? Oh my...did you make it?" she asked Selene, who looked over at Yomi. "It's nothing special, I had to make it quickly..." Selene looked a little unsatisfied with what she had created, but Yomi just placed the gift in Sebastian's hands, to hug Selene tightly. "No! It's perfect... Come up to my room with me, I want to try it on immediately!" She exclaimed, when suddenly everyone went silent.

The King stood at the top of the stairs, his head held high, as he spoke slow and stern. "Whats going on here? Are we bored enough, to make such noise?" Selene and Sebastian bowed down, as Yomi didnt dare to turn towards the King. She could hear his strong steps approaching her, until they stopped right behind her. "To my office Yomi, now." He demanded, grabbing her arm and pulling her upstairs with him again. Selene looked concerned, while Sebastian grabbed her shoulder softly. "It'll be fine... We can bring the dress into her room for her to try on later.." He said, then proceeded with his work, and so did Selene.

Yomi was dragged by the King, into his big office. She pushed her inside, then slammed the door behind them. Walking over to his desk, he sat down, resting his elbows on the desk. "Yomi... Yomi.. Yomi... I don't like it when you distract my staff." He said with a low and hush voice. He beckoned her with his fingers, making her move towards him immediately. Yomi looked to the ground, as usual, before her chin was lifted with his fingers. "Usually, I would punish you right here and now but... As it's your birthday, I will look past it now..." The King sighed, patting his lap as she continued to speak.

"Come sit here... I've actually got something for you." He ordered her, and Yomi didn't dare to disobey, so she moved closer, sitting onto his lap. The King opened a drawer, pulling something out of it. It looked like a hairpin, beautifully decorated with chains and red rubies. He carefully stuck the hairpin into her silky and long black hair, running his hands trough her ponytail. "I want you to wear this whenever we go on meetings or have a ballroom party... Are we clear?" He made it sound like a question, when in fact it was an order. He pulled on her ponytail, making her head tilt back. "Yes, your highness..."  Yomi simply replied, nodding  a little, as the chain on the hairpin started to shift, making metallic sounds.
