13: Getting along...?

Y/n's pov:

" Y/n!"

" AUGH! What the fuck man!"

I shriked in suprise when that vouce supride me, resualting in me almsot stumbling forward and drop the food that i prepeared but thankfully i catched it just in time before it could fall to the floor. Taking a breath of relief i gazed behind my shoulder to see Lucy, standing just a few meters from your side with a confused face. It was then i noticed that she was looking at my arms and my scars wich made me gasp in a high-pitched voice and was quick to pull down the sleeves again before adjusting my posture asnd smiling akwardly at her as i placed my hand on my hip
" Oh! L-lucy-W-wha-at are you d-doing here!?"

I mentally cursed at my stutter as i observed lucy's face, obviously not buying my act by stepping up to me and gripping my wrist harshly
" What are those scars!? Are you hiding from something from everyone here!?

Her sudden harsh voice took me by suprise ands i pulled my hand back and rubbed my wrist
" What? Can't i have some privacy, i have a life outide this hotel you know?"
I defended myaself, acting all bitter again as i began to cut into my food but she id not like my response and slammed her hands against the kitchen-counter to get my attention

" Are you trying to hide something from everyone here!?"

" And what makes you think that THESE scars would suddenly mean somethig bad!?"

She suddenly gripped my hand again and i stared into her eyes wich were filled with rage and misjudge, our breaths were close to eachother
" CAUSE sinners are all dirty souls wo are hiding horrible secrets! You're all hiding something sinful and cruel on your bodyparts or in your bag that shows us exactly what grusome actions you commited when you were alive and afterward made you end up here in Hell! You may have fooled all the other but NOT me! I can see that you're deep inside a merciless maniac, ready to take me down as soon as i lower my guard........!"

Squinting my eyes, i was in complete disbelive by her choivce of words
" Dosen't all that you just said just making you into a real hypocrite since you know......"
I slowly set mysef free from her grip akwardly as i scratched my neck
" ........you're a sinner yourself.....???"

Lucy facial expression suddenly changed from angry to realisation? She took a step back and rubbed her arm in emberassment as her cheeks turned into a golden shade.

" Man, you're really weird and i'm used to weird behaviors.."
I spoke up as i stared at her.

She just gazed at the floor.

There was a long silence in the kitchen before an idea suddenly struke me as my eyebrows raised. I turned around to the food and cut it in half with a kitchen knife before placing the first half on a yellow plate, turned around to Lucy again and Held out the plate for her to take.

Lucy only looked at the food with furrowed eyebrows

"I-i know that we probably do NOT get along very well and you're still angry at me for attacking you in that store for a few hours ago but you seem very, very bitter today and since home-cooked meals always makes me feel good i though that maybe it would work for you aswell."
I said with genuine laced in my voice.

At first she didn't respond and her gaze switched from my face to the plate, her eyes were written in confusion but didn't say a single word. My arms started getting tired from holding out the plate for almost a minute, just as i thought of placing it back on the counter she finally took the plate.

I breathed out in a light relief but she started to examine the food, sticking her finger into it and jiggling it to test the condistence and smekning it very intesnly.

I gasped suddenly and pointed at her
" You think that i'm trying to poison you, don't you?!"

She simply shrugged
" Ofcourse, no one can just offer food like this when it's not even lunch-hour!"

Is this how she behaves with people?! No wonder she's single!

Her response only made me scoff as i rubbed my forhead to ease the raising headance
" It's called snacks, you imbicille...!"

She only seemed to get more confused
" Snacks...?"

God, this woman is really weird.....

I eventually made her accompany me at the table and eat the food i prepeared. I poured some water for us both and started to much into the food with glee, it feelt so good to take a break after today and some food surely could made me relax and recharge.

But Lucy was still very hesitant to taste the food judging by the way she poked the food with curled lips and worried eyes. I kindly gestured my hand for her to atleast try it
" Look, it seems like we both need these trust-exercises more than you think, it obvious that we do not trust everyone here and share the same fright to trust anyone again or ever but i think that you don't seem to have honestly despite you having no respect for boundaries and have anger-issues."

Her eyes trailed from the food to me and her face seemed to lit up in a way as i continued to speak
" Ofcourse it'll take alot of time and adjust to this new life and living-conditions but we can start with having a decent conversation and a good meal between residents. Don't worry, i wouldn't poison someone here, i promise...."

Lucy didn't respond to that, she just took a sharp breath threw her nose, picked up the fork and slowly cut into the food before slowly liftning it to her trembling mouth and taking a bite. She closed her eyes shit and gritted her teeth but Once she tasted the food and started to slowly chew on it her expression changed to a bit softer and she open her eyes again.

I knew that face, i've seen ti too many times, she liked the food.

" So? How does it taste, Lucy?"
I smirked at her as i leaned closer to her over the table.

Lucy just stared at me like i've just killed a child for a few seaconds before she silently stood up from the chair, took her plate and stepped out of the kitchen without saying thank or goodbye.

Rude!

But atleast she liked the food. That's a start, right?
