I woke up in the same clothes as last night. i guess it was still pretty early cause the sun was just coming over the horizon and everyone was still sleeping.
i got dressed in some shorts and simple comfy tee, i washed my face, and put on some mascara. i didn't feel like doing much, so i grabbed the tin box from under my bunk and opened it up. all of the potoroids that i'd taken over the summer layed there in the box, i dumped them in my lap and looked through them, tons of photos made me smile, my friends posing for my camera as soon as they saw me with it,then ones with e.j only some he knew of, others were from a-far, ones that were just for me.
my eyes start to water again. i collect all of the photos i find of him and count them then counting the rest.fifty. i suck the tears back up and put the photos back flipping the ones of e.j over.
i clicked the box back and slid them back under the bunk. i grab my list and my pen and start checking off some of the last things, but i couldn't, i couldn't check it off.

i folded the paper up and shoved it in my pocket for later.
i went on a little walk just to clear my head, but when i got back everyone was gone.
i sat on my bed for a few minutes, just wasting time.
the door opened, carlos, jet, ricky, ash, gina,kourt, and maddox came in.
"happy birthday" they cheered, i smiled and stood up from my bed giving them a big group hug.
"thank you guys" i say." we were gonna wake you up and say happy birthday but you weren't here so we moved on to ricky" kpourt explains
"yeah, i almost had a full blown heart attack" ricky puts his hand to his chest." happy birthday" i hug him.
"okay, sit down. we have something for you two" carlos says , me and ricky give each other a intrigued look and sit down " close your eyes" he instructs
we both close our eyes, i hear the creaky door open.
" open!" he says , big red stands in front of us with a cake in hand.
"big red!" i say with enthusiasm." of course you showed up" ricky hugs him first, then me." duh, we've spent every birthday together since pre-school" big red says
"and you brought the lotto ticket right?" ricky asks with full hope." the what?" big red puts the cake down on the coffee table.
