Amuse Me 'Til I No Longer Need

The first time I met her, it was nothing special. I thought nothing of her. She wasn't even extraordinary and totally not my type. In fact, far from it... but hmm. Yes, Akashi Y/n is definitely something. How did we become close friends again in such a short period of time given to us?

Akashi Y/n. The first time I met her was of course that fight where I knocked her out in one go. Who would have thought a girl like her is participating in a tough battle? She must have been out of her mind.

Though I noticed that she was always cornered to her thoughts the more I observed her presence. What is she thinking from time to time? There's no doubt she always had a thing or two to say that will hit the nail on the head.

What got me hooked into her was when she was against that weak gang leader. It's a shame I didn't get to actually see her fight in action. It was only her mind that was strong which was the contrary to her fragile body. Ah, that would have been so entertaining to watch. It really was such a letdown.

I suddenly then woke up from a comforting nap as I sat on top of the low lockers inside the classroom I belong to. "Haitani Rindou! You finally decided to show up for class, I see. It has been, what, 8 months? Seriously, how are you not kicked out yet?!" The generous teacher said, pointing her ruler at me all the way from the front of the class while I was at the very back.

Then, a student came rushing inside the classroom only to find out that a student was being scolded early in the morning. Our eyes met. Hers were surprised while mine were just there to see who came in. Was she surprised to see a student who had been gone for so long or surprised that she was late?

I snickered, getting off the lockers, "It's better to be early than to be late, right? I wasn't late unlike a certain someone over there, teacher." Composing myself, I diverted their attention to that student who was late, panting excessively as she ran all the way up to the third floor.

"This is your first time being late, Akashi. I assume you have a valid reason." the teacher said in a suspecting manner as she approached her. The student named Akashi replied with guilt melting her face, "I'm sorry I... don't have any valid reason nor do I have a petty excuse."

"Stay behind class, the both of you! You two must learn that school is a top most priority among the youth!"

When everybody in our class were leaving, we both stayed inside that classroom for another hour and a half to, I guess, amend for our mistakes. The teacher wasn't really paying attention to us so we could just do whatever we wanted as long as we wouldn't escape. Well, I couldn't really do anything. The girl's quiet as ever. She was giving off a different vibe from what I remember.

"Hey. Akashi, right?"

"What do you want, Haitani?"

I was put to a pause as she mentioned my surname. "How did you remember?"

"Remember what?" Y/n asked, sounding quite irritated at me. She struck me a glare as she looked in my direction.

I continued my question, "How did you remember I belonged to the same class as you? I thought everybody forgot about me." Though it didn't really bother me or brought me down about everyone forgetting about me, I was just curious.

"Ah..." Y/n straightened her posture from sulking on her desk and then answered with a straightforward tone, "You stood out from the rest. How could anyone forget that stupid hairstyle? If I were you, I would tone it down a bit. It honestly looks like a huge mess."

I bursted out laughing in an instant. "Just by my hairstyle?! Really?" I pointed out as my laugh got out of control. "You are such a funny person, Y/n!"
