I loved You then I hated you

The healthy light blue sky opens itself to the spinning globe. The wind isn't too strong to blow away the props settled on the plain sand. The color white showers the landscape as beautiful flowers swirl with the cool air.

Soon, the sun sets to fall into slumber as individuals are on the other side of the coin. The waves on the ocean are calm enough to cheer on the beloved couple. "Congratulations!" They express with a smile.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!"

What should I say for my wedding vow? Should I start from the very beginning? Hmm, that doesn't sound too bad, but how do I piece it together? He seems pretty casual about all this. Well, Rin doesn't really get nervous that much. Damn, I didn't know it's this difficult to prepare! It looks so easy in the movies, ugh.

It has to be perfect! A wedding can only be done once in a lifetime. That's right. I have to think about it for a long while. Come on, Y/n, retrace as far as you can back to when your first encounter with the Haitani Rindou. It can't be that hard, right? All this time, you have the memories displayed in plain sight.

...Because I didn't want to let go of what we had back then. I thought it would all be over when I did so. I wanted to meet him one last time, at least fix what we left, so I wouldn't feel shitty when meeting him in person.

Well, look at us now. Almost to perfection. Together. And inseparable. Hey, I think that's perfect for my wedding vow! Gotta write all that down.

"Hey, Y/n. Is everything alright?" Rindou asks as I feel a tug from his hand. I then move my eyes to him, reconnecting to the real world, and tilt my head as I question, "What are we doing at a hospital outside the city?"

Sanzu takes this opportunity to enlighten the both of us. He stops his tracks and gazes at the building with cold eyes. "I gained information that Takeomi was last seen here. I think he is hiding inside, must've seen the news and his sudden mysterious downfall."

"The last time I saw Takeomi was when I graduated from high school. I left the house when I began college. Ever since then, I haven't heard from him." I say in a gloomy tone. This place feels like death is everywhere. Well, it is a hospital, but there is something to it that makes it eerie.

We continue to head inside. Each floor has a ghostly aura to it as if the last people that stayed there perished and didn't survive their own silent battles.

There are only a few rooms that are occupied with little staff members roaming around. Honestly, I have not seen a single doctor or nurse passing by. Is Takeomi really here? Or he already left before we could arrive?

For a hospital that is placed outside the city, it feels illegal to know about this location like this building is swarming with unlicensed doctors. It makes me wonder if this is only occupied by people who have committed crimes.

As we pass by a room with an open door, I instantly pause my feet as my eyes cannot view anything else but him, Takeomi. "He's...there." I utter slowly. Sanzu and Rindou simultaneously walk towards me as they are just in a pace ahead of me.

Sanzu now stands next to me, shocked and disbelieving of what his eyes are looking at. "No... That cannot be...!" His walking pace gradually picks up as he approaches the bedridden Takeomi. An oxygen mask is placed around his face.

It is obvious to the eyes that he is on the brink of death as his body is bony and has no color, his weight is nowhere close to what I can remember of him.

Sanzu shouts at the top of his lungs with his hands aggressively slamming on the hospital bed's side rail. His eyes are full of frustration and explosive anger. "Why the fuck are you in this condition?! Are you making a fool out of me, huh!?"

His hands ball to a fist as he attempts to control his anger. "I was going to kill you mercilessly, damn it! What the fuck happened to you, Takeomi...?"

I walk up close and rest my hand on Sanzu's tense back. I feel his emotion, all of it. It is agonizing to see him like this. Both of them. Sanzu then looks at me with a pained expression as he says, "Killing is the only thing I can do best, but why can't I do it now to him? I don't know what to do, Y/n."

I stare back at my brother and reply in a dejected tone, "This proves you have sympathy for people. You are a human being and what you are feeling is normal. Sanzu, do you still feel like killing him but something is stopping you?"

"No... I have to kill him." Sanzu says with his resolve gaining back its strength. "Seeing his condition, he won't live that long. At this point, he is just suffering. This might be his punishment for everything he has done to us, to your parents."

He then pushes me lightly to the side as he says, "Stand back, Y/n." He raises his katana and aims directly at Takeomi's heart. "As your brother, I shall put an end to your misery, Takeomi. We will all be free from now on."

As Sanzu is about to jab his heart, a loud explosion on the main ground echoed in the area where the three of us shift our attention to it at once. Rindou mutters my name as he holds my hand, saying, "Whatever happens..."

I finish the sentence for him, grinning with an anxious look, "We'll make it out alive."

Suddenly, someone breaks through the window and Sanzu shouts, "Get out now! I'll catch up!" I don't have the chance to speak another word to my brother as Rindou already drags me out of the room but our eyes meet in a millisecond, his speak only of security and assurance.

Rindou and I run towards the exit but we realize that the explosion happened to barricade all doors leading outside. He catches his breath as he thinks of a plan. "Y/n, can you keep up?" Rindou asks. I simply chuckle and say, "Look at you. You're all out of breath from running."

"I see you've got some stamina in you." Rindou smirks.

On the other end, Sanzu is dealing with around five people. He cuts all wires attached to Takeomi instead of stabbing him. "So we fell into a trap, huh?" He utters with a devilish grin. "But you cannot bring me down with a few pawns in hand."

His movements are sharp and fast as his katana punctures the enemies' bodies with ease. With the last enemy in his grasp, Sanzu first slices off the man's feet. "Now, be honest with me or this will get real messy. Who sent you here? Do you work under Takeomi?"

The man grunts, "...M-Mikey! Mikey sent us all here to take you down!!" He continues to squeal in excruciating pain, blood oozing out of his huge open wound at the end of both of his legs. Sanzu then jabs his katana on the man's upper leg as he says, "You know I want to hear more of that. Now speak."

"H-He...The police force teamed up with Bonten to...capture you! Mikey says...he no longer needs you!!" The man struggles to speak with the pain only growing more and more.

A frown appears on Sanzu's expression upon hearing this. The man continues on, "Your weakness...that woman. With her here, she made it easier for us to take you down!"

"Y/n? My weakness?" Sanzu regains an evil grin on his lips as he says, "Y/n is my strength. You deserve to die knowing you are wrong, huh?"

The man forces a mocking face, saying, "But someone's weakness is her, right?" That's where his life ends abruptly as Sanzu detaches his head from his body with the use of his katana. "Well, how will it turn out for the both of you...Rindou?"
