Chapter 12
The Meeting
2465 Words

The Christmas holidays had come and gone, leaving Hogwarts draped in the soft hues of winter. The corridors buzzed with the renewed energy of students returning to their studies.

Harry sat in Professor Flitwick's Charms class, surrounded by his friends—Blaise, Adrian, Theo, and even Draco, who had, after a long talk, apologised for his mistake and became friends again. The classroom was filled with the quiet hum of concentration as students prepared to practice the Levitation Charm.

"Remember, it's Wingardium Leviosa, swish and flick!" Professor Flitwick reminded the class, his tiny frame perched atop a stack of books.

Harry, wand in hand, focused intently on the feather before him. He could feel the magic pulsing through his wand, a sensation becoming more familiar with each passing day. He took a deep breath, aimed his wand, and said, "Wingardium Leviosa."

To his surprise and the astonishment of his classmates, not only did his feather rise gracefully into the air, but so did everyone else's. The room was suddenly filled with floating feathers, bobbing and weaving as if caught in an invisible breeze. Draco, seated next to Harry, couldn't help but smirk. "Show off," he muttered, though there was a glint of admiration in his eyes.

Before Harry could respond, Professor Flitwick approached, his eyes wide with amazement. "Extraordinary, Mr. Potter! Such raw magical power!"Harry blushed, lowering his wand and causing the feathers to float back down to the desks gently. "I didn't mean to, Professor. I couldn't seem to focus on my own feather."

Professor Flitwick beamed. "No need to apologize, my boy. It's quite rare to see such talent at your age. With a bit more practice, you'll be able to control that power with precision."

Draco leaned over, his voice a whisper. "Impressive, Potter. Maybe one day you'll focus long enough to be useful."Harry rolled his eyes, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Maybe one day you'll stop pretending to be better than everyone else, Malfoy."

Their banter was interrupted by a soft cough. Professor Flitwick, having returned to the front of the class, raised his hands for silence. "Let's all take a moment to appreciate Mr. Potter's demonstration. Magic, as you can see, can be unpredictable and powerful. It requires not just skill, but concentration and discipline. Keep practising, and you'll all achieve great things."

As the class resumed, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Despite the occasional bickering, he knew he had friends who would push him to be better. Even Draco, with his snide remarks, seemed to respect Harry's growing abilities.

The lesson ended with a round of applause for Harry, and as the students filed out of the classroom, he found himself walking alongside Draco.

"You're getting there, Potter," Draco said, a rare note of sincerity in his voice. "Just try not to show us all up too often."Harry chuckled. "I'll do my best. Just try not to get too jealous."

"Mr Potter, a word please" A small voice squeaked and Harry looked up from his books, all his classmates started filing out of the door and Harry walked up to the professor, wondering what it was.

"Sir?"
"How are your classes going Mr Potter?"
"Quite smoothly sir, they are very interesting"
"Very good, Very good. Friends? Doing well in slytherin?"
"They all are very welcoming once you get past the cold exterior professor"

Flitwick chuckled "Of course my boy"

"Sir, may I know... why...you called me here? I hardly think it's about my friends" Harry questioned, trying his best to sound polite, though he dint know how else to phrase the sentence.
