Phil was back at home, the team had finished their season and now he was in the off-season. He was spending his days between training and spending time with Effy. He was currently in the living room watching a football game when he noticed her sitting in the kitchen alone. He looked at her for a few seconds before he walked over and he sat down next to her. "You okay?"

She looked tired and there were bags under her eyes, he could tell that this pregnancy was taking a lot out of her. As much as she tried to play it down, he could tell that it was affecting her a lot more than she was letting on.This was her first pregnancy and she was still only a teenager and didn't have the best family support. "Have you eaten anything today?"

"No." She replied as she rested her head on the table, As he saw her reply, he sighed and he stood up. He made his way over to the kitchen and was soon preparing a plate of light foods for her. He brought it over to her and he sat down again.

"Eat up, it'll do you some good. "

"Phil i told you im not hungry." He sighed and his tone became more insistent.

"I don't care if you're not hungry. Eat something. You need to eat. "He placed the plate on the table in front of her. "I don't want to hear any arguments, eat."

Effy ate the sandwhich that Phil had prepared, she tried her hardest not to throw up as she gagged lightly "I can't eat this!"

He frowned as he saw her gag and he took the plate away from her. He was worried about the fact that everything made her want to throw up. And he felt like a complete ass for getting angry at her when she was going through all of this. He was quiet for the moment before he spoke again.
"What can you eat?"

He was desperately trying to find something that she might be able to keep down, he was willing to do anything just to make sure that she was healthy and that her pregnancy was normal and safe. He felt protective of her and as much as he hated the fact that this pregnancy happened at her age, he wanted it to run smoothly so that she was safe just as much as he wanted the baby to be healthy.

She couldn't give him an answer on what she was able to keep down and eventually he snapped. She was being stubborn, and it wasn't the first time since she had discovered that she was pregnant.

"What the hell do you mean you don't know what you can eat? You've been pregnant weeks now, you should know what works and what doesn't. "

"Stop shouting." She said as her head went back down onto the counter.
He sighed and suddenly everything seemed to hit him all at once.

The pregnancy, the way she acted, her family issues and everything else. He felt angry, upset and frustrated all at once and he took it out on her.

He snapped under the weight of all these feelings and he yelled again, louder and more angrily.

"This whole thing has made you so goddamn stubborn, why can't you just answer me? What can you eat? That's all I want to know."

"Phil can you just leave." Effy told him as she held her baby bump "Just go, i don't care where."

As soon as he heard that, he suddenly felt a deep regret, he couldn't believe the way he had just acted.

She was right, he was out of line and his anger was not justified. He had absolutely no right to lose his cool at her. He sighed as he got to his feet and he walked towards the door. As he opened the door he spoke before he left. "I'm not leaving you in this state but I need to cool off. When I've cooled down I want to sit down to talk with you."

He shut the door behind him and he walked out of the house.

He leaned against the outside wall and he took a deep breath. He felt guilty, incredibly guilty for the way he treated her. He was supposed to be her man, he was supposed to make her feel safe but the moment she refused to answer his question he got angry. He was disgusted with himself and he felt like the worst boyfriend imaginable.
