THE GROUP OF TEENS were looking at her the whole time.

"I can't imagine having to greet all those people, I'd faint," Daphne sighed.

The Greengrass sisters were absolute sweethearts. Vivienne and Daphne had met at a birthday and the following year had recognised each other as they were roommates for their first year of Hogwarts.

Since then they've been best friends, a small duo sometimes trio with on-and-off Parkinson.

Vivienne didn't care for Parkinson. She was in the friend group of 8 too but they'd barely interact with each other. Vivienne still can't get her surname right till this day.

Malfoy, Parkinson and the younger Greengrass all stood side by side looking at Vivienne as she greeted guests of all sorts.

Her slender arms reached out and shook hands gracefully with many. Her head was held high as she smiled in every direction. She looked radiant.

He had let out a deep sigh,  Draco Malfoy had been madly in love with Vivienne and she had been madly in love with him, though it was only them two who couldn't see the tension or chemistry or the signs.

Astoria looked up at Draco after hearing him sigh and saw he was still staring at Vivienne with heart eyes.

The younger Greengrass had always had a thing for the Blond boy, trying to seize every opportunity to see him such as hanging out with her sisters group or going to the bathroom during class just to pass his class.
She knew he was off-limits.
He was Vivienne's. It wasn't a spoken and official fact but everyone just knew it.

Astoria had no grudge against the ravenette. Her jealousy against Vivienne was just on and off. Jealous of her perfect hair, and perfect body and perfect personality.

It frustrated Astoria so much how Vivienne didn't hate her at all but cherished her and cared for her like a younger sister, just like how Draco loved Astoria like a younger sister.

She glanced back at Vivienne and saw that she was now left alone after greetings.
Because of all the guests moving away to the other side, Vivienne could now see herself on the mirror covered wall.

Vivienne's throat tightened as she looked at herself. Her hands started to sweat against the velvet gloves as she took shaky steps back. She tried to inhale but the air had turned bulky and rough against her throat.
She felt like a mess.

It seemed only Astoria and Draco had seen this change as Parkinson left to go back to the group.

"She's beautiful, I don't understand Draco."
"She doesn't see that. All she sees are the flaws" Astoria looked up at him as he walked towards Vivienne leaving Astoria by herself.

"HEY VIV, YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL"
Draco kisses her hand then her temple easing her breathing.
She looks up at him, surprised at how much she had to crane her neck just to see him.
Flashing a signature 'Viv' smile she gasps in exaggeration, "You look rather dashing yourself, Mister Malfoy."

'Shut up" he chuckles, taking her arm into his gently as they walk towards the kids, "I missed you, V" he whispers.
"Missed you too, D" Vivienne unlatches her arms from Draco's hold as they get closer to the group and speeds up in front of him.

Entangling herself into a tight hug with Daphne Greengrass the two girls squeal after not seeing eachother the whole break.

"I missed you so much Daph!" A huge smile appear on both the girl's faces.

"I missed you more! I kept owling you so much but you never replied, did you even get the letters? I swear this owl of ours is so annoying." Daphne rambles, holding Vivienne's clothed hand.

Vivienne couldn't tell her that she purposely ignored her letters and everyone else's because she was stuck in an emotionless void the whole Christmas break after receiving her dark mark. It wasn't something to hide from her friends.
Malfoy had already got it a few months prior to the break, as well as Nott and Zabini. It was just a topic they never spoke of.

"No! I never got the letters, you have to catch me up!" Vivienne looks back at Daphne as she makes her way towards her favourite boys, bringing the two down into a hug.

"I," she squeezes the two, "Missed you two so so much."
"Here," Vivienne brings out two mini decanters out from her bra handing it to Nott and Zabini
"What is it?" Zabini questions, swirling the liquid inside.
"Hundred year old cognac*"

Popping the lid open and inhaling the smell of the alcohol, Nott lets out coughs at the strong smell with Malfoy hitting his back. "You sure? Smells like its a fucking thousand."

"I'm sure Theo. Come on, drink up! We have a long night ahead before we can get excused." Vivienne encourages as the two boys take a small sip from the strong liquid passing it around the circle, "Father brought it back when he went travelling. Said it cost a fortune!" She flaunts.

Rolling her eyes, Parkinson spoke up, "We get it Sanguis, your daddy's got money. Merlin, you say this every time."

With chuckles coming from Zabini and Nott, Daphne comes inbetween the two hot headed girls, "Come one Pansy, knock it off. We all flaunt our shit."

Passing Daphne and coming face-to-face with Parkinson, Vivienne sneers down at her, squinting her eyes before smirking and standing straight again, "You just mad, Pans."
Shoving past her, she struts towards the banquet where Crabbe and Goyle were.
Obviously.
