I laughed when I saw mommy's chat a few minutes after I posted a photo of my birthday tattoo. Ni hindi pa nga ako nakakaalis sa tattoo shop at nagpapalipas lang ng oras kasi mahapdi pa rin naman ang tattoo. Not my first rodeo, but I'll never get used to the pain. Mababa pa naman ang pain tolerance ko.

Mommy:
Ate, bakit ganon yung message ng tattoo mo? May sama ng loob ka ba sa amin? :(

It was quickly followed by another one.

'Kinabahan daddy mo at baka gumaya ka raw sakin na nagpa-tat sa bikini line kaya ayaw mo raw sabihin sa kanya kung saan'

My parents are a bunch of crazies!

I replied.

'Nakita ko lang po sa Pinterest, my, and thought it was cool. Wala akong sama ng loob sa inyo! Haha. You're literally the best, guys ♡♡'

A new chat popped on my screen, this time from my work group chat, but not the serious one. It was just me and my closest friends.

I swiped my phone into lockscreen before I decided to go home. I just sent a quick chat to Pooh and Friends inviting them for later. I was kidding when I said magpapalibre ako. It was my birthday after all.

After the family dinner, I went upstairs to prepare. I changed into my birthday dress—a silver sequined dress with a low neckline and hugged my body like a second skin, and a pairing silver stiletto. I also did my make-up to match my outfit and fixed my hair in a high ponytail.

A lot of people told me that I was a carbon copy of my mom. And it makes me happy and proud because looking at my mom now. . . wow, I'd like to be that good when I grow older. And dad said I was a handful like my mom. Lagi ko raw pinapasakit ulo niya.

What can I say? I was a product of them two. Surely, they knew the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

My sister knocked at the door and didn't bother on waiting for me to let her in. Bumukas na agad ang pinto at deretso na siyang pumasok.
