The air around Isabelle felt different.
Leaves, high up in the trees rustled as if trying to convey a message. Standing next to Natasha and Sam, they all looked up as Steve spoke up through the coms "Everyone on my position. We have incoming."
Everyone knew. As if their sixth sense simultaneously awakened for this. Their senses were on high alert, scanning the surroundings.
A greyish-blue cloud formed, revealing a tall, muscular purple man. He was bald and scary, his golden clothes contrasting his skin.
"Cap, that's him." Bruce said from within his metal Iron-man-like suit. It was supposed to mimic the Hulk, but the red accents just resembled Iron Man.
"Eyes up. Stay sharp." He ordered everyone.
Isabelle was the first to attack. With her large knives in hand, she ran at him from the side.
With a single move of his left wrist, Thanos lifted Isabelle off the ground and threw her to the side. She was already mid-air, launching herself at him, but he made her levitate higher.
While getting up, out of the corner of her eye she could see a red light coming from Wanda. She stood up and looked around.
Everyone was hurt. Rhodey got crushed and was lying on the ground.
Bucky was pushed out of his way, too.
Natasha was getting crushed by rocks.
Steve was lying there after getting punched in the face.
Knowing she couldn't even stand a chance against Thanos, she ran to James.
Was she still mad at him? Yes. Did she still care about him very much? Yes. Was he still lying there, awfully still? Yes.
"James? Jamie," She shook his shoulders, holding her breath a little. He furrowed his eyebrows, shutting his already closed eyes tighter. "Oh, thank God." She murmured.
"Doll?" He asked, his eyes fluttering open.
She sighed, brushing his long hair out of his face. "Yes. It's me," She tried to calm him.
"I'm sorry." He muttered. Before she could reply, a yellow beam flashed across the forest like some kind of explosion. She was left breathless as the impact stole the air from her lungs.
