"Dear," Alastor, your patient and caring partner, says to you, his voice filled with a mix of concern and affection, "the more you keep bouncing like that, the more tired you will be."

"I know, but I can't help it. I'm absolutely buzzing with anticipation!" you exclaim, your voice filled with a thrilling excitement that's infectious. Alastor chuckles at your boundless energy. You woke up before him this morning and immediately roused him, too. Your face is adorned with a radiant smile that hasn't waned. Now, you're practically bouncing around the kitchen as Alastor prepares some food you will take with you today. He's finishing wrapping everything up and storing it in a basket.

"Okay, we're all set, my love!" Alastor declares. He extends a hand to you, and you eagerly accept it. You pull him towards the front door, your heart racing with the promise of a thrilling adventure and deepening love. Alastor hands you the basket as you step into the world, the very act symbolizing the journey ahead. He takes the basket from your hands and leads you towards a waiting truck. With a gallant gesture, he opens the passenger door for you, and you climb in, ready to embrace the unknown, hand in hand with Alastor.

"Are we going somewhere in town?" you ask.

"No, ma biche innocente. The town would be one of the last places I'll ever take you. I'm taking you to the place I proposed to you," Alastor says with a smile.

"That doesn't help me. You know I can't remember that" you huff, crossing your arms around your chest. Alastor lets out a hearty laugh at your response.

"Well, it's a beautiful, peaceful place, my love. Not many people go there because hardly anyone knows about it," Alastor says, his voice filled with a hint of mystery as he turns down a dirt road.

"Well, how do you know about it?" you ask him. He glances at you with a smile.

"My momma used to bring me here when I was a child. It was our secret hideaway, a place to escape from the world. I've brought you here several times before I proposed," Alastor says gently, his voice tinged with nostalgia. The memories of him with his mom always soften his heart. He misses her deeply. She would've adored you. She was constantly nagging him about when he would get married; sadly, she couldn't be present when he did.

Alastor quietly keeps driving down the road. You watch as the trees pass by and the occasional random animal. The truck starts slowing down as you near the end of the road. But all there is is trees. It does not look like a place to get a proposal. Alastor gets out of the truck and walks over to your side. He opens the door and helps you get out.

"It's a bit of a walk from here," Alastor says. You glance over at him. You didn't expect to walk a million miles to the place. He looks back at you. "And don't complain about it."

You choke on your words. You hate that Alastor can read you like an open book. You can barely tell when something is on his mind. Much less figure out what he will do next based on his actions. While he gives you much affection, which you like, you can never tell what he thinks. He's a big mystery sometimes.

Alastor and you walk hand in hand through the enchanting forest. He's carrying the basket and occasionally squeezes your hand. As you approach the clearing, the anticipation in your chest grows. The clearing unfolds before you, a picturesque scene with a serene lake and a field of vibrant wildflowers. Alastor was right, it's a breathtaking sight. He releases your hand and wraps his arm around your shoulders, drawing you closer.

"Do you like it, my dear?" he asks softly in your ear. You nod your head slowly as you continue to take it all in. He lets out a quiet laugh, watching your stunned face. He knew you were going to like it. He takes your hand, leading you closer to the lake. You walk around it as he leads you over to the shady parts.

You both find a comfortable spot in the shade, basking in the beauty of the surroundings. You engage in heartfelt conversations, cherishing each other's company. You've savored the delicious food Alastor prepared. The sun slowly traverses the sky, marking the passage of several hours. Your head rests in his lap as he reads a story to you, his gentle hand caressing your hair. The tranquility of the moment is palpable.

"Hey, Al?" you ask, glancing up at him. He stops reading and glances down at you.

"What is it love?" Alastor asks you, putting the book down beside him.

"Before my accident, did we ever discuss about having any children?" you ask. Alastor tenses up slightly, not expecting a question like that.

"We've talked about it once or twice. We didn't have a solid plan about it, though," Alastor says, looking at the lake.

"Oh," you say softly. You avert your eyes to look around you. You lay in quietness for a few minutes. The only thing you can hear is the animals and insects around you. Alastor is still stroking your head. Alastor glances back down at you with a soft smile.

"Would you like one?" Alastor asks. Your face heats up at the question.

"Uhm, it'll be nice to have one to grow our family. But we don't have to do that anytime soon!" you exclaim, all flustered. Alastor's eyes soften with love, and he chuckles at your embarrassed face.

"Whenever you're ready, my love. Our family will be perfect, with or without children," he reassures you, his voice filled with unwavering commitment. He leans back a little bit and looks up at the sky. It's slowly turning dark, and a few stars have already started to appear. "It's getting late, so we should begin returning to the truck. We don't want to be stuck out here in the dark and can't find our way back."

He helps you to stand on your feet. He packs everything up, and you both walk back to the truck hand in hand. The ride back was peaceful; you almost fell asleep a few times. But now you're back home lying in bed. Alastor's arm is wrapped around you, pulling you closer to his chest. You're all snuggled up into him, feeling at peace.

"Thanks for today, Al," you say softly. Your voice is a little muffled from being squished against him. Alastor looks down at you, and you look up at him.

"It's not a problem, love. I'll take you back there again," Alastor says, giving you a small smile. You return the smile. Alastor leans down and gives you a soft kiss on your lips, which you happily take. You go back to snuggling into his chest. Your breaths slow down as you fall asleep. He places a soft kiss and whispers at you. "Bonne nuit mon amour."
