''Something's off...''

''...Who the hell does a job for free? That's what I normally would have asked myself before leaving, especially when it came to that clown.''

''But in front of me was that Ancient being, perhaps the strongest monster I have ever faced. I wanted to play on my own board. I wanted to prove that I was the best, and out of pride I stayed, that's why I broke my own rules, to prove my might.''

''But my ego... doomed me to defeat...''

DING!

The elevator stopped when it reached its destination, its doors opening as muscular man walked out of it. He had straight black hair down to his ears and green eyes, along with a scar at the corner of his right lip. Stepping into the office, his gaze set directly on the man in front of him.

The man returned the gaze with keen interest as he sipped from the mug on his hands.

"This is certainly a... surprise. I was not expecting any visitors today, but do make yourself comfortable." The man set down his mug, raising an eyebrow as he smiled mischievously. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this unannounced meeting, Toji?"

''I've got Info on the Queen, Oz.'' He said, holding a small smirk as he spoke.

"You have info on Her?" Ozpin tilted his head to one side, his tone still cheerful but with a hint of seriousness. "This is a surprise. I assume you know how difficult it has been to obtain reliable information on her, correct?"

Ozpin set down his mug, placing his hands on the desk.

"So, by all means, tell me what you know.''

Toji took a quick look around the office before responding. ''Her... yeah, I know a thing or two about her.. She's planning something Big, I can't say what it is. However, I've heard the word around the small globe we live in. Their numbers are increasing, they're becoming more violent, and they're spreading out quickly.''

Ozpin's cheerful expression morphed into one of seriousness at his words.

"How reliable are your sources? How certain are you that Salem is behind whatever it is you've heard of?"

The headmaster was asking these questions because he knew how unreliable rumors could be. There had been many false alarms over the years, many rumors spread to try and sow fear and discontent. So the headmaster took each rumor with a dose of skepticism.

Raising his arm lazily, Toji showed Ozpin the palm of his hand. It showed a noticeable cut, something quite unusual for the assassin.

''This is enough for you?'' He asked with an arched eyebrow. ''Their increased animosity caused me to become a little careless, they even almost scratched my cursed inventory. However, they didn't cause alot of trouble overall. They're still the same mindless creatures as ever.''

Ozpin examined the scratch on his hand carefully, frowning slightly. It was an unusual sight, to say the least, since it was quite rare for an assassin as skilled as Toji to be injured by anything non-unnatural.

"A cut... yes. Quite unusual for a Hunstman of your caliber to receive a cut like that."

The headmaster's voice was still neutral, though he seemed to have more concern in his eyes than before.
