( Summary : Chris & Jill spend some time together at home with a bonfire & s'mores! )

Status of their relationship in this one shot : Engaged!

"Hand me the lighter." Chris stated, holding his right hand out to his fiancé, Jill. "Here you go." Jill stated too, placing her red bic lighter into his hand, allowing him to co-start the bonfire. The two had recently purchased a pit to have bonfires in, it was summertime & growing up, one of Chris's favorite things to do. Jill never necessarily got to experience things like this, it felt like her inner child was progressively being healed.

Chris stuck his hand in the pit, lighting the lighter and watching as embers began to burn. "We'll need to get more sticks and leaves, come help me?" Chris asked Jill, handing her back her lighter & then holding his hand out for her to hold. "Glady." She chortled, following by his side as they ventured out near the edge of the woods that bordered their home.

"Is it true?" Chris asked her, not giving any context as to what it was he was referring to. "True? What?" Jill questioned back with a rather puzzled voice. "True that you never had a bonfire growing up? Never with your dad? Or even just with friends?" "No, I never had one. Popping my bonfire cherry tonight, I suppose." Jill giggled, her hand still interlocked with his. "Mmm, I guess you are." Chris smirked, squeezing her hand firmly.

"Oh, here we go." Jill sighed, crouching down and picking up some sticks covered in leaves. "Good job, my love." Chris praised her, helping to pull her back up straight. "Let's get some more, only a little though. I just need the fire to burn long enough for us to make some s'mores." Chris explained, continuing to walk side by side with Jill. The evident moonlight was casting upon the two so beautifully. It caused their golden eyes to glow as if they were animals in the darkest of nights.

"Do s'mores actually taste like that coffee creamer you bought me?" Jill chuckled out, but her question serious. "Kind of, the creamer makes them taste a lot more sweet but you'll see baby, be a patient girl." Chris answered her question, bringing her hand up to his lips and placing a gentle kiss on it, resulting in her giggling even more to herself. "I love you." "I love you too." Jill whispered to him lovingly.

Checking his shoulder, Chris checked on the bonfire, wanting to make sure it was still burning. It appeared to be thriving but with the breezy air, they needed to restock is ASAP. "Alright sweetheart, let's just grab these and head back, yeah?" Chris said as he leaned down to grab wood scrap & other things like leaves and grass. "Sure thing." Jill soughed, crouching down and using now both of her hands to pick up the material.

"Do you know what we have to do this summer?" Chris questioned, wanting to see if she'd take a guess. "Uhhh no? Something with work?" "Go camping, I have a great spot just north of here, perfect spot for fishing." Chris exclaimed, standing back up and clearing throat, gazing down at Jill as she stood back up too. "Camping? Well, I'd love to." Jill responded with a radiant look. Chris smirked back at her. The eye contact was precious and even before they began dating and before they were engaged, it always felt as though the two could gaze at each other forever.

Walking up to the pit, Chris first placed his lot into the fire, adjusting it just right to burn in all the best places. "Place the wood and whatnot in there slowly, I don't need you getting burnt." He mentioned as she began to drop leaves & grass into the pit. Jill went to go for a open section of the pit but Chris instantly grabbed her wrist, not in a mean way though, he just didn't want her to be burned. "No sweetheart, you'll get burnt. Here..." Chris muttered to her, guiding her wrist to the left side and allowing her to drop the scraps in.
