Chrisett had been staying with cam and Marie ever since the phone call about her mother. today however was the funeral.
Marie was helping chrisett get ready, putting on her black dress with black sheer tights under, and a hat that had a net covering her face.
tears were running down her face as she put on her heels. she didn't bother putting on makeup of any sort, she grieved the thought of trying to look good at the funeral of her mother.
"cmon baby, we gotta start going." Marie says as she rubs chrisetts back and walks her to the door where cam is waiting with no emotion.
they walk out and into cams car. as chrisett sits in the back without any thoughts, feelings, or idea about what to do.
she was supposed to give a speech as she was the only daughter Kira ever had. this wasn't anything new, she gave a speech at her dad's funeral when she was just 6.
the thought of all this happening again just made her bawl her eyes out again as if she hadn't been for the past week. her eyes were puffy and red, making her look like a whole different person.
Marie hears this and turns in her seat to look back at her, grabbing a tissue box and passing it to her.
she she tries to smile and thanks Marie before wiping her eyes dry and keeping herself together for the rest of the drive.
when they arrive to the cemetery, chrissett is still kinda holding together, not wanting to crumble under her mass emotion.
chrisett opens her door and walks out. already dreading at the sight of the coffin. she breaths before going over the speech she was told to give.
chrisett looks up to see only a few people were there since it was still early. her eyes wander until they meet a certain curly blonde haired boy.
she walks over slowly as he does the same. they don't take time to speak before nelson just hugs her. the hug lasting at least 5 minutes, pure silence, just a meaningful hug meant to say 'I'm so sorry for your loss.'
"hello, my name is chrisett Diaz, daughter of Kira Diaz, being her daughter has been the best thing that has happened to me, she is my best friend. the person I feel most comfortable with. sadly that isn't possible anymore as she has sadly passed.
after my father passed it was devastating, always having to deal with struggles no matter what, and the hardest part was waking up and knowing that he isn't there. this is still a struggle even though he passed 9 years ago, he obviously still has a place in my heart.
everyone in my neighborhood knew my family, and shortly after reuniting with cam, everyone knew my family, they knew my mom, my whole father's family tree, at some point it felt they knew my whole entire life. unfortunately I will have to go through that, with my own strength.
my mother, went through such a hard life just trying to get me through school, making sure I studied, worked on assignments without having them become late. and even helping me graduate highschool at 15, school wasnt the only thing we were going through. bills, payments. money in general, and she still worked so hard for me because she is the most selfless women i have ever met.
this all happened because of her, she plays the best role in my life and although she is gone. I won't forget her. and I hope everyone here doesn't too. but for now as my speech is coming to an end I would really appreciate having my family in your prayers. and lastly, ma, i know youre hearing this, please remember that i love you, and if i ever acted otherwise im so so sorry." tears were running down chrisetts face as she finished her speech.
a quick and low wave of 'amen' was heard from across the crowd of people as she walked down the stairs near the podium and wiped her tears with a peice of cloth she had been provided.
