Puffs of smoke wafted through the cozy apartment. Ragid inhales of Marijuana filled Lillys lungs.
In.Out
In. Out.
Following the languid rhythm easing her Knott nerves: having little effect on her racing thoughts.
‘Who was Mae exactly?’
Lilly never dared to ask about her background, thinking it must have been a rough patch. Or an invitation to one of her nasty glares.
But with the things occurring, it wouldn't be outlandish to know you weren't living with a sociopath.
Mae couldn’t even disclose why she was protecting some random kid. Numerous red flags seemingly have been triggered.
She hasn’t done anything to him, so that’s great. Especially with her latest stunt during the Flaxens.
She’s trained to kill, that part was obvious. She fought with a pair of oversized scissors for fucks sake!
More importantly, she hasn’t outwardly stated what her ability was. Allowing people to assume what they pleased.
If Lilly were to guess maybe something with super strength, speed? No, that wouldn’t explain her ability to create things within thin air.
If that small fraction of power displayed during the attack says anything, it was a warning.
The damage and or danger this woman could cause if she so wished to turn on humanity was grand. Was that a risk she was willing to take? To betray her if the opportunity called for it?
Ruffling her brown locs furiously, stray strands blocking her hazy gaze.
‘No that would be a one way ticket to the afterlife.’
‘But, she wouldn't hurt me…right? She didn't seem to hold ill will when I would piss her off so maybe…’
Grunting small curses, this woman was an enigma; an absolute fucking mystery.
“I don’t know anything about her…”
Mae was hyper aware of which cards to play and which to keep hidden. All of us are expandable in this invisible game she is playing.
“Gosh, what did I get myself into?” running her left hand down her face, truly understanding the magnitude of the situation.
“I’m glad you’ve finally come to that retaliation. Makes this a whole lot easier.”
A man teleported into the cozy living space, startling poor Lilly off her feet—and stumbling onto the thick carpet beneath them. She sluggishly puts out the blunt, letting the nub fall to the floor.
Grabbing the nearest weapon, an organic-shaped vase, raising it above her head, mustering up a glare.
