A RED-HEADED TEENAGE GIRL sat down on the grass, her back pressed up against an oak tree as she waits patiently for her older brother, to pick her up. She pulled out her sketchbook from her white messenger bag with cute pins and ornaments.
Juliana's eyes glanced down at her sketchbook, her slender fingers holding a pencil as she began to draw. She used the trees and grass as inspiration for her sketch, drawing the scenery that surrounded her.
A cool breeze came by, causing her red strands to be blown by it as she drew. Her doe-eyes remained focused on the page as her pencil scratched against the paper to create her sketch.
Juliana got lost in her drawing, she almost didn't noticed that someone had sat down next to her. She stopped sketching and glanced up, making eye contact with her friend, Max.
Upon knowing that it was him, a small smile was brought onto her face. "Hi, Max." She greeted him, her voice soft and quiet. "What's up?"
"Hey, Julie." Max gave her a small smile as he
sat down next to her, taking out his history notebook. On one of the pages, there was a green, thin post-it note peeking out from there. "Since you didn't came yesterday, here are the notes.""Oh, thanks, Max." Juliana replied as she took the notebook from him, gently tucking them into her sketchbook for safekeeping. She then closed it before setting it aside, but just when she did, a beeping of a car was heard from a few feet from them.
They both looked towards that direction, and noticed that it was her brother's car. Juliana stood up and hung her bag on her shoulder. She waved at Max while slowly walking away. "I'll give it back tomorrow when I see you, okay?"
"Yeah!" Max nodded his head, waving back at her with a small grin as he stood on his feet. "Yeah, see you tomorrow." He added in, watching as she got on the car.
Juliana threw her bag on the backseat and puts on her seatbelt, struggling a bit because it got stuck. Her brother, Zane, let out a chuckle and rolled her eyes.
Getting home, they took off their shoes once they stepped inside, leaving them in only their socks. She scanned the room, looking to see if her parents already came home from work, they didn't.
After seeing that, Juliana instantly ran upstairs to her room, ready to change out of her school uniform and into comfortable clothing.
She closed the door of her room and locked it, not wanting for anyone to come inside while she was changing. Juliana let go of her bag, letting it fall to the carpeted floor and began undressing herself.
She left her socks on, not really liking being barefooted throughout the day. The young girl slid on a plain white crop top and a pair of grey sweatpants.
Just as she was fixing her hair, she heard Zane called out her name from downstairs. Juliana ran down, heading towards the kitchen since that's where she heard his voice.
"What?" She asked him, arching a brow as confusion became apparent in her features. She hopped on the counter, grabbing a banana before peeling it to take a bite.
"Have you seen my phone charger?" He looks at her, leaning against the refrigerator with his arms crossed over his chest.
As a response to his question, Juliana shook her head to the side. "No, I haven't. Why don't you go ask Marcus? You know he always stealing your shit."
"Yeah, I know he does." Zane sighed, annoyed that his younger brother keeps getting his stuffs without permission. But even if Marcus did ask, he still wouldn't lend it to him. "I already checked his room, it's not there."
"Well, sucks to be you." She giggled, finishing the banana. They both know that Marcus won't be coming home until later tonight. Today, he had a basketball game, which starts at eight and right now it's almost six.
Juliana jumps down and threw the banana peel in the trashcan. "You can use mine though." She told him, not even glancing his way as she grabbed a bag of chips that belong to Zane. "But I get to have these."
The eighteen year old glared at her, bothered that she's taking his chips. Part of him still wants those, but he also doesn't want to be phoneless for the next few hours. With a little bit of reluctance, he gave in and nods, agreeing to her, in his opinion, stupid deal.
"And give me back my cologne, I know you have it." Zane growled, a slight scoff leaving his lips. Juliana let out a laugh and stick her tongue out, she's keeping his cologne, she doesn't care.
She went to her room to grab her charger for him then head back down and placed it on the counter. "Here, dumbass."
With a blank stare, he looked at it for a second, annoyance flashing his eyes. Then his gaze flickered over to her face. "And my cologne?"
"I finished it." She lied to him, obviously she still has some, but if she told Zane that, he would take it away. His left eye twitched, watching how his little sister smiled innocently at him.
"I'll buy you a new one." Juliana instantly chimed in, waving her hands in his face to make him react, he just keeps staring at him with a murderous look.
"How would you buy a two hundred dollar cologne?" Zane questioned while he gave her a harsh glare, his lips are turned into a frown.
Her eyes widened at that information, that's so fucking expensive for merely a cologne. "I-" She paused, not knowing what to say. Juliana stayed silent, making a pouty face. "That's a dumb way to waste money."
"But it's clearly worth it if you're willing to steal that little investment from me." Zane rolled his eyes, snatching the charger from the counter and went to his room.
"Two hundred, though!?" She yelled out to him, placing her hand at the edge of the counter, gripping it tightly. "That's too much."
Juliana sighed when she didn't hear a word come out of his mouth, he's ignoring her. Shit, maybe he really is mad about that cologne, she thought.
She pressed her lips together in a thin line as she thought about something. Should she just give him the rest of the cologne or go get a job and buy him a brand new one.
Or, she could just wait until her dad, Axel, gives Juliana her weekly allowance. But to get to two hundred dollars, she has to wait for two weeks since he only gives her a hundred per week.
She clicked her tongue in annoyance, running her hand through her long, curly, ginger hair. After a minute of just standing there like a fucking idiot, Juliana went to her room to copy Max's notes.
