Potter was up to something. Draco was sure of it. Well, mostly sure that was. It was their eighth year now and without all the pressures of the war and the threat of death in the air, Draco had realized some things. In other words, Draco Malfoy was hopelessly in love with Harry Potter.

Therefore, Draco had been giving the boy extra attention. He noticed the way Potter ducked when entering rooms even when he was clearly short enough to fit below the doorframe. It was as if Potter thought he had had a growth spurt when in reality he hadn't.

Draco would have brushed this off as delusion if not for Hermione Granger. When they were walking below a place with a lower ceiling, she would point at it and Potter would nod slightly before trying to duck casually. Why would Granger be humoring the savior like that?

Not to mention, Weasely also seemed on board. He would draw attention away from Potter when the boy needed to duck. It would have worked if not for the fact that Draco's attention always seemed to be on Potter nowadays.

It wasn't just the ducking though. No, Potter also sat in his seat weirdly, as if he was sitting on something. It just didn't make sense. All of a sudden, he was just acting strange and no one but the blond seemed to see it. After two months of this behavior, Draco was starting to go crazy.

"Potter!" He shouted randomly, feeling betrayed by his own mouth. The two boys hadn't spoken much since the trial and the return of Draco's wand. The blond flushed.

The Gryffindor nodded to his friends to go ahead before slowing down so Draco could catch up with him. "What's up, Malfoy?" He asked casually as if they had never been enemies. Draco felt his heart swoon.

"You're shorter than me."

Confusion made its way into Harry's eyes. "Yes?" He answered hesitantly.

Draco blinked, trying to figure out how to make the words come out. Instead, he ended up awkwardly ducking his head holding up his hand as if he was ducking under it. "I fit through doors," Draco spoke finally, still doing the ducking action.

He must have looked ridiculous. The people walking by seemed to think so, a few first-years snickering. The blond couldn't find it in himself to care right now, not when he was sure Potter knew what he was talking about.

The boy flushed crimson, awkwardly rubbing the nape of his neck. "You do," Potter agreed. Hesitantly, he met Draco's eyes. "Let it go. Please." And then the boy was scurrying away.

It was then that Draco made his next conclusion: Potter's steps had a slight bounce to them.

"You won't find what you're looking for."

Draco peered up to find Granger next to the table he was at. He had been there a few hours, going through various textbooks. Ducking under corridors, sitting strangely, the slight bounce: the blond couldn't find anything that made sense of those symptoms. Was it a curse?

"I know because I tried for weeks too." Granger sat down across from him. "Harry was behaving strangely and I thought I could find it. When Harry finally told me though, I realized none of the books mentioned anything like it." She shrugged.

Sucking up his pride, Draco sighed. "Hermione," He began, the name strange on his tongue. "What is it? It seems to be making him distressed and I-I just want to help."
