I sighed, but my gaze couldn't help but drift toward Hyein. Something about her… wasn’t right. It was unsettling, the way she stood there, so stiff and unnaturally still. She didn't act like a normal human. She fit the description of everything Hanni had said about doppelgangers. My stomach twisted with unease, a creeping sense of dread inching up my spine.

This Hyein… it wasn’t her. Not really. Her eyes were vacant, hollow like dark, bottomless pits. They didn’t blink, didn’t shift. She just stared ahead, as if the world around her no longer existed. Her face—usually so animated, so full of energy—was now a blank, empty mask. There was no emotion, no trace of the bright, lively girl I knew. She looked… lifeless.

I took a step back, my heart pounding in my chest as I watched her stand unnervingly straight, her posture rigid, like a mannequin propped up for display. That wasn’t like her at all. Hyein never stood this way—she was always moving, bouncing around with that carefree energy. And she was never this serious. Not ever.

But now, there was something wrong. Terribly wrong. Her face was expressionless, not even the slightest flicker of life behind her eyes. It was as if she had forgotten how to be human. My mind raced back to Hanni's warning about doppelgangers, how they struggled to mimic real people. Their faces always too still, too cold. Their movements… wrong.

I swallowed hard, my throat dry, my voice barely above a whisper. "

— "Hyein?"

She didn’t answer. Didn’t even look at me. She just stood there, her head slightly tilted, as if she was listening to something that I couldn’t hear. Her lips didn’t move. Her breathing—was she even breathing? I couldn’t tell.

I took another step back, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. My pulse was racing now, and I could feel the cold sweat beginning to form on my skin. Hanni's words echoed in my head, the warning about asking them the question—the one that would force them to reveal themselves.

But I couldn’t say it. I was too afraid of what might happen if I did.

Hyein’s head twitched, just slightly, as if she had heard my thoughts. Her eyes, still empty and void of life, slowly turned toward me. My heart nearly stopped. There was something horribly wrong with the way she moved—too slow, too deliberate. Like a puppet on strings.

I wanted to run, to turn and leave, but my legs felt like they were glued to the floor.

This wasn’t Hyein. This thing, whatever it was, was wearing her face. And it was waiting for something.

I'm fucking worried now.

But I saw Hyein walking next to Haerin and sleeping beside her, strange.. I suddenly received a notification.

Shit.. I quickly took one of the knife and walked to Hyein, I raised my knife but I suddenly felt my feet being held and getting dragged, making me fall in the ground.

— "Ahh! "

I slightly raised my voice which caused Haerin to wake up, and the next thing I know is this "Hyein" trying to fucking bite me, but Haerin, managed to stab this thing through, the thing suddenly stopping in trying to bite me as the knife that went through its back and it's chest slipped out when this things body fell on me.

It was disgusting with the blood on my shirt..

Jake's Pov.

It's not funny anymore.. I have been seeing things, things I'm not supposed to see.

But is it completely normal? Or not.. Because it feels like I wanna unalive my self after seeing a thing..

It all makes me go crazy.. It all make some wanna kill myself... I WANNA KILL EVERYBODY. I WANNA GET INFECTED. I WANNA BE LIKE THOSE ROTTING ZOMBIES BITING EVERYONE'S NECK AND EATING THEIR GUTS, LUNGS, SKINS. I WANNA BE A FUCKING ZOMBIE WHO EATS EVERY EXISTENCE IN THIS CITY.

Heeseung's Pov.

I woke up when I saw Jake mumbling something, I'm kinda scared now. I slowly woke all of them up Eunchae, Sakura, Chaewon, Kazuha, jungwon, sunoo, sunghoon, Hanni, Minji and Hyein.. Jake seemed likes... He's going crazy.

And I heard him..

— "IM GONNA EAT EVERYONE WHILE THEY'RE ASLEEP, CHOP THEM TO PIECES."
