Brandon was awoken from his sleep by the sound of his bed moving and the feeling of his covers shifting.
His eyes opened and he saw his girlfriend, Amira attempting to quietly get up. The room was dark but there was a lamp in the corner so he could see a little.
He felt around for his phone as Amira left the room, not having any idea that he was up. When he found his phone, he saw that it was 5:35 in the morning and they didn't have to work until 9.
Which was what she'd been doing lately, waking up really early and going to work at two hours early, claiming that their boss, who was also Brandon's dad, had wanted her to start coming in early.
Brandon was suspicious of it but kept his mouth closed for the most part just so he could see how it played out.
But over the past couple of days he's been getting sick of it, she enrolled their son Cairo into daycare without consulting with him first and expects him to take Cairo every morning while she takes their car and goes to work early every morning.
