meeting her (requested)

I sat around the table with Claudia and Finneas, waiting on her cousin that she had mentioned before.Today we were having our weekly family dinner with each other.

This was quite a bit nerve racking as I wasn't the best at meeting new people.Im guessing that Claudia sensed my nervousness and place her hand on top of mine which was resting on top of the dining table.

"Hey, don't worry Billie.It's going to be okay, I promise you.Trust me she's the nicest person I know." Claudia said, with a light chuckle.

"Okay" I said under a whisper, not caring at the moment whether she heard me or not.

Just then the doorbell rang a tune all around the house.Claudia jumped out of her seat and ran to the door.It was obviously clear that they were really close with each other.

Not even a second later I can hear Claudia's loud squeals. As I'm assuming that she was hugging her cousin.

Footsteps were then heard from the door getting louder as they were getting closer. Just then, Claudia and her cousin approached the dining room.

Looking up I saw Claudia and her cousin standing right across the table from me. I could feel her gaze on my face as I refused to make eye contact and only looked at Claudia.

"Billie this is Aaliyah, and Aaliyah this is Billie Finneas little sister." Claudia said as she grinned excitedly.

Finally getting the confidence to look at her, I saw her hazel orbs staring right into my blue ones.

"Hi." She said with a grin just like Claudia's.

"Hello" I said just above a whisper.

Just then my mom and dad walked  in the dining room with food dishes in their hand, placing them on the table.

"Oh hi! You must be Aaliyah!" Mom said with excited laced thru her voice.

"Oh yes that's me." She said with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Claudia talks about you all the time." Mom said, with extra emphasis on the "all".

"Good things only I hope." She said, as her eyes squinted as she was laughing.

"Mama Maggie" Claudia said with a whine.

Soon after, Aaliyah said Hello to Dad and was
Looking for a seat at the table.Soon I realized that the only seat that was available was right next to me.

"Oh,I hope you don't mind if I sit here." She said as the sat down to the right of me

Looking up at here face I saw her glancing at mine for confirmation that it was okay for her to sit there.

"N-No of course. I don't mind" I stated as I was looking into her brown orbs.

"Okay cool." She said as she sat with a man spread.

A couple of minutes later everyone got settled, we said grace then started eating.Just then dad started asking Aaliyah question about herself.

"If you don't mind Aaliyah we would like to get to know you better." Dad said

"Oh no of course I don't mind at all." She said as the glanced up at him waiting for a question.

I glanced up too, wanting to know more about her.

"How old are you?" Dad questioned
