As they made their way up the winding path to the Princess Y/N's side of the castle, Connie and Armin happily chattered away. The sounds of their footsteps echoed against the walls of the stone pathway, adding a sense of liveliness to the otherwise quiet surroundings. They caught up on all the things they had missed out on during their time apart - from gossip about fellow scouts, to plans for future adventures. Connie's enthusiasm was matched by Armin's genuine delight at being able to work closely with his friend once again. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, filling the air with warmth and companionship as they neared their destination.
"Levi? Settling down? No way, I don't believe it," Armin exclaimed, his eyes widening in disbelief. "That man only has two passions in life now that the Titans are gone - cleaning and tea."
"You're not listening to me!" Connie argued back, his voice dripping with excitement to be able to banter with his friend again. "He's happy here, I can tell. In fact, he's the head of interrogation and his assistant? They make a perfect team. They were both vets before joining the royal guards. We never even crossed paths until we started working together though."
"I'm listening! I just can't believe it. I'm glad everyone is finally settled. It's amazing to hear after all that we went through," Armin exclaimed, a genuine smile on his face. "And Connie, I'm so glad you're happy here. You deserve it." His words held true sincerity, and it was clear he was genuinely pleased for his friends' well-being.
