As the sun rose over their new home, Armin stirred from his slumber and quietly slipped out of bed. He tiptoed downstairs, ready to spend his first morning in their new surroundings. In the kitchen, he set a kettle on the stove and picked out his favourite tea blend. As he waited for it to steep, he sat down on the plush sofa in the living room, surrounded by unfamiliar objects that had been carefully picked by Cee and Levi. With his steaming cup in hand, he opened his book and lost himself in the pages, trying to calm his racing mind. He couldn't help but replay the events that led them to this new house and the uneasy feeling that settled in his stomach. But for now, he focused on the present moment, savouring the warmth of his tea and the comfort of his book.
After waking up, Y/n got herself dressed for the day and left her room before walking down the stairs and entering their new living room. Armin sat perched on the couch, engrossed in his book. A small smile graced her lips as she greeted him with a cheerful "Good morning, Armin." However, Armin only glanced up briefly before returning his attention to his reading, not meeting her gaze. Y/n suppressed the urge to snap at his bluntness and instead turned to make herself a cup of tea. The warm aroma of freshly brewed tea filled the room as she took her steaming mug and made her way out to the back garden. The vibrant colours of blooming flowers and lush green grass surrounded her as she settled into a comfortable chair, basking in the morning sun and sipping on her tea, savouring every sip. Despite Armin's cold demeanour, Y/n couldn't help but feel content in this peaceful moment.
As the back door clicked shut behind him, he rose from his spot on the couch and stepped outside. Y/n had moved to a chair in the backyard, her posture tense as she stared at the ground. He approached her, his feet sinking into the soft grass with each step. "You know, even though this is a safe house, it's not entirely secure," he began. "You still need to let me know when you want to leave so I can come with you." Standing near the back door, he towered over her small form.
She looked up at him, her eyebrows raised in irritation. "Oh, so you can lecture me about safety, but you can't even say good morning or acknowledge my presence? That's just absurd." Her voice was laced with frustration and hurt.
