That Took A Turn

Naye pov:

I was on my way outside of the campus to take a small break and sit in the grass, trying to get some peaceful time in between these days.
I could sometimes get a glimpse of Jisung, Chan or Felix who would hide just outside of the property.

Jeongin went to get us some snacks from the vending machine and I patiently waited for him.
Just one more hour and then the day would be over.

He soon came up to me and we ate our snacks in silence. Jeongin was also on guard the whole day but even tho I didn't know what the person looked like, I still kept watching around me.
The weather was getting colder and I pulled my arms closer to my body to prevent a shiver.
Jeongin looked over at me and grabbed my hand "Let's go inside."

In the corner of my eye I catched movement as we walked back into the building, thinking that it was one of Stray kids or Ateez.
I wanted to catch the person's eye to make sure but Jeongin had already pulled me inside.

We walked to our next class.
It was assigned that Jeongin would've the exact same classes as me.
Now was philosophy and I couldn't help but feel sad.
Philosophy was me and Olivia's favorite and now it's the first time that I've seen her today, sitting in her usual spot which was right next to mine.

I bit my lip, hoping that she'd still want me next to her, and walked over. Jeongin was right behind me but I didn't pay him any attention for now. I had to talk to Olivia. I can't let her hate me.

I sat down next to her "Olivia-" Jeongin was about to sit on my other side before a familiar voice cut through.

"My~.. I'm finally able to talk to you." Beomgyu smiled "Really, it was a pain to see you guys from afar but we finally have a class together!"

Jeongin went to stand directly in front of him, shielding us girls from Beomgyus view "What are you doing here?"

"I'm studying here." Beomgyu replied as if it's obvious "Since I was assigned to go to this college for Naye I have been quite a good person. Now that Ateez shoved us to the side for you guys, I'm just gonna keep going here." he shrugged "You know, I could graduate. I never went to college, but now I got a little chance here to show off."

I didn't know what to think about Beomgyus words and his smile. It seemed so weird, I couldn't even decide if I thought he was telling the truth or not.

"Go away." Jeongin glared, not trusting the young man in front of him because he knew the relations that Beomgyu had.

"Okay sorry." He put his hand up in surrounder but still smiled "Just came by to say hello, oh and.." Beomgyu leaned closer to Jeongin and whispered something I couldn't hear.

Beomgyu walked away and I looked up at Jeongin who stood frozen on the spot. My thoughts whirled as I tried to guess what Beomgyu could've said and I placed a hand on Jeongins arm "Jeongin?"

He didn't respond, seemingly like he was drowning in his thoughts.

"Innie?"

"Mhm?" He abruptly turned around to look down at me and my hand fell from his arm with the turn.

"What is it? What did he say?" I asked quietly, trying not to let Olivia overhear our conversation because this wasn't a subject she should know about.

"N-nothing." The boy shook it off and sat down next to me, but he didn't look my way again and rather stared to the front of the class.

I was confused and wanted to know what Beomgyu had said to have Jeongin react that way.
It has to be something bad so my urge to know was even bigger.
I swallowed and turned to Olivia for now, having to talk to her before I miss my chance.
