Aoife (EE-fa)- MC of this story!
Yejun- Aoife's younger half brother
CHAPTER 1
This sucked!
Truth be told, my current predicament wasn't anything new for me. I was used to taking on monsters solo at this point; however, that didn't mean I had to be happy about it.
Breathing heavily, I pulled back my fist and slammed the leather wrapped knuckles into the grotesque green face of a goblin. Between the minor enchantments placed upon the gloves- curtesy of my dear, loving, younger brother- and the added strength I had due to being a raider, the blow managed to send the three foot tall creature flying. It stumbled into another of the scantly dressed beasts, both falling to the ground in a tangle of spindly green limbs.
Luckily, goblins were stupid enough that the one I had hit managed to stab the other with its dagger in the struggle of separating from one another. Not that a goblin would give up on fresh human meat just because of a little gut wound.
I gritted my teeth and threw my red curls out of my face. I typically kept my mess of ginger hair in a tightly woven braid while in an instance, but it had come undone and I didn't have a moment to fix it. No matter, I had this situation covered.
Annoyed, I spared a glance for the other nine raid members that I had entered the instance with. They were all engaged with the boss at the moment: a goblin lord. Well, the lord as well as the three goblin mages we had not accounted for. No doubt I would be blamed for that once the instance was cleared.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw our raid leader charge in on the mages, while our healer kept him shrouded in a green haze of healing magic. Either side of the healer stood an archer, both sending rapid fire arrows into the robed goblin mages. One of the archers was shooting flaming arrows, showing that she likely had a fire type skill that was fairly rare to see in a no-star instance. I doubted the girl would be kept at this low level for long.
Grunting, I jumped to the left. Damn it, I had let myself get distracted. I just barely dodged an over head blow from the stabbed goblin's club. If it weren't for the number of status points I had funneled into both my perception and agility, that might have been the end of me.
