Eddie and Steve have been through a lot but Gareth is Eddies best friend they've known each other for a long time and they were really close. they were both taken-  Eddie by Steve and Gareth by Jeff Sprauve another member of hellfire but Steve didn't know Jeff and Gareth were dating and thought Gareth liked Eddie 

current time Steve's pov-

  I just pulled in to the school parking lot to pick Eddie and Robin up. i got out and smoked a cigarette while i waited for them to come out. then Robin comes out and waits with me for Eddie. She grabs my cigarette and throws it down on the ground. "those things kill, Steve." she said being annoying as usual but i still love her. Then Eddie comes walking out and of course hes with Gareth i think Gareth might like Eddie but i don't know. they walk over to us "finally" i say sounding kind of annoyed but not telling anyone because that's just how i be.

"Where were you?" i say to Eddie completely ignoring Gareth.

"Got caught up talking to the party about a campaign" Gareth replies.

"I wasn't talking to you" i say in a kind of rude manner.

      I turn to Eddie. "Get in". He says bye to Gareth by hugging him which i didn't like at all then he got in the car. "dude what was that all about" Eddie asked sounding rather annoyed with me. "What do you mean?" I pretend to be clueless. "That shit with Gareth why don't you like him".~ "Who said i didn't like him".~ "your whole tone and stuff".~ "Okay Eddie whatever".

Eddie's POV-

    Steve dropped off Robyn and now were sitting in silence or we were now Steve's talking. "Wanna come to my place?" He asked kindly which makes me regret what i'm about to say. "No i'm hanging out with Gareth, sorry." I try to say it as nice as possible but i know there will still be backlash. "oh okay" I barely hear Steve say because he's talking so quiet but i can hear he sounds hurt. "I can like cancel" i try to resolve it. "No it's fine i'll just ask to Nancy come over". I know they're just friends but they've dated before so no one knows what could happen, do i know they're just friends? regardless it hurt to feel like i'm being replaced. "W-what?" i sound hurt or upset a this.

"Nancy, i'll just ask her since your busy" he spoke the last word with slight venom in his voice.

"I can cancel it's fine, really" I really don't want Steve and Nancy alone doing god knows what.

"No just hang out with Gareth your best friend" he says sounding annoyed

"did i do something?" I honestly want to know what i did to make him so mad

"yes Eddie! it's always Gareth Gareth Gareth, like we haven't hung out in weeks because you always busy with him! you know i'm your boyfriend not him right?"

"look Steve-"

"forget it man" He pulls into the trailer park and stops the car by my trailer. 

i try to give him a kiss but he moves away. "just get out Eddie". I feel awful cause now that i think about it he's right we haven't hung out in a while.
